Looks to me like the people playing at the Nugget don't believe in Wisconsin at all.
I get the line movement with the Michigan game sort of due to the returning offensive stars at Michigan. I don't get the other two at all.

Ohio St lost a ton of players to the NFL.

Penn St's defensive line is very young and there's no way they can handle Wisconsin's veteran offensive line and PJ Hill running. Donovan or Everdige won't be asked to do too much. If Scirotto isn't available for Penn St due to criminal charges-- Wiscy TE Beckum will kill them. Morelli, Austin Scott etc. don't scare me much. Plus, Wiscy SPT will be among the best in the country.

i know that i am a homer but just some food for though, where i agree 100% that psu's dline is young, they have a TON of talent there, as much as anyone in the country, they are mostly sophmores but man are they talented ...7 of the 8 on the 2 deep depth chart WILL be playing in the nfl in a couple years as long as they continue to work hard like they have been doing, larry johnson sr. (the cheifs larry johnsons dad) is psu's dline coach and there isnt a better dline coach in the country

and where the dline will be young, and very talented...but the lb corps that will be behind them will be unmatched anywhere in the country, dan connor is hands down the best lb in the country, sean lee is another outstanding lb and they have more depth at that position then anyone in the country... that is why they are LINEBACKER U!

scirottos criminal charges were blown WAY out of proportion! WAY WAY far out....he may be suspended for the first game but make no mistake about it, he will be playing when we line up against ND the second week of the season to repay them for the embarrassment they gave us last year... everyone know joepa is a hardass, so the punishment the team and individuals recieve are what they deserve, i mean hell, he suspended dan connor 4 games 2 years ago for making prank phone calls!


if you want my honest opinion i will give you what i think..i said this before the 2005 season.....the only game i am scared of is against michigan in ann arbor, if psu beats michigan in ann arbor, they will be playing for the national championship this year

in 2003 i thought we would be a little better then what we were, i predicted 7 wins, obviously that didnt happen, in 2004 i though we would have 5 or 6 wins... a little off.... in 05 i thought that we would run the table with a bump in the road at michigan was the only thing i was scared of, well if you watched that game it was basically handed to michigan in the final minute of the game..... last year i thought we would lose to ohio state and have a close game with michigan, i thought that we would beat wiscy which we could have and i thought that we would play a TON better against ND, which was obviously not true

this year, if psu loses a game it will be against michigan....

I'll respectfully disagree with your 11-1 or 12-0 prediction. The offense is going to have to get way better for anything like that. 12 points vs soft Purdue and 17 points vs swiss cheese Michigan St ain't going to cut it. Road games at decent offenses such as Illinois or Indiana will bite you if Penn St lays eggs like that this year. Where's the running game going to come from? Morelli needs to be alot better too. Plus, your young defense is going to have to be ready.

Anyway, let's just think about the Wisconsin game and what the line may be.

Wisconsin should be 6-0 going into the Penn St game. Maybe Iowa or Illinois gives them a game but I don't really see them losing. Let's assume Penn St is 5-1 (lose to Michigan, beat ND and the rest) going into the Wisconsin game. I think the line at game time would be Wisconsin -3.5 at least.

Now if Penn St would lose to both Michigan and ND. Wisconsin's favored by 7 to 10 points.

Either way if one buys Wisconsin -2 now -- I think there'd be some good middle opportunities. I'm not sure there's as much value in the other two games since they are back to back for Wisconsin. I don't think they can win at Ohio St and then home versus Michigan.

I'm thinking 9 wins for Penn St. Lose to Michigan, Wisconsin, and one goofball game (Iowa, Illinois, or Indiana) where Morelli self destructs. I think you guys will get wins over Ohio St and Notre Dame this year.

everyone is entitled to their opinion... and like i said, i am a homer, i will admit, but i USUALLY have a pretty good grasp on the psu team...

wiscy is going TO penn state this year where in the past 2 seasons has been a VERY hard place to win....

the low points at wiscy was unacceptable and at ohio state was just up against a superior team but against purdue, that game was simply a game where you put the ball on the ground...reason being was the wind, it was ridiculous! to hard to throw the ball, so they got a lead and just pounded the ball the rest of game

i agree that the offense needs to step up and i think it will tremendously...running game has austin scott, underachieved thus far in his career but stepped in for tony hunt in the orange bowl against FSU and racked up 110 yards and a td against them, as long as he stays healthy i think he could have a big year

if psu gets a couple bounces their way they will be going to a bcs game
