W/Loadholt, other than size? We passed on Oher, to take Harvin. NOT what I wanted, a potential disaster coming IMO. A replay of Lake Minnetonka boating "incident", and all the rest of the garbage Zitzy swore to rid from this team. I know he's a "game changer" but?? We need help @ RT desperately, can "The Load" help us?:ohno:

As a Sooner fan I have said in here a couple of times that the OL for OU was over rated LY and it reared it's ugly head against the better defenses, TCU, Texas, and Florida. Loadholt is a load and a big old boy and probably needs some professional coaching and to control himself a little better. IMO Harvin should be a godsend and can take some pressure off of our other OU player up there, Peterson. If he would return kicks alone he could add a year or two to Petersons career. Personally I am not a big Loadholt fan but I love that Harvin kid. Peterson could be a good role model for Harvin. Harvin has had the injury bug and if he pulls that stuff in Minn he will not bring everything he could bring under the right conditions. Good luck next season.

Thanks A Lot Russ

Pretty much what I had gathered. The "Load" @ RT MAY work out. They'll have their hands full w/GB and Raji @ nose. Harvin scares the hell out of me. I've seen him play, he's quick as a heart attack. But it's not just the personal probs, also the many injuries and missed games. And Childress is not a Coach who inspires fear OR respect. In fact I fully expect him to "lose" this tm sometime this yr. I can see the greatest RB and the 2nd greatest (Moss) O threat we've ever had go down the drain, ala KG!!:ohno:

Loadbolt might be better suited to play RT. He is a monster and probably needs some special attention and some pro type coaching but he may be worth the effort. I think Harvin respected Tebow while he as at Florida. Peterson could fill that role. If Harvin did some KR and became a role player he might extend both of their careers. I tend to agree with you about your coach but they really are not that far away and your draft looks pretty good to me actually. I thought Harvin would be harder to replace than Tebow next year but we shall see. There are guys just like him that play for 10 years or more and stay productive and in this case you get a potential play maker. Like Peterson he has the ability to turn a game around, definitely worth a shot in my book. It is a shame that he got tested positive the way he did and that always casts a doubt although it may just be a speed bump/lesson learned in the long term.

Hey Silver, how ya been doin' bud? I haven't been following the draft very close because I've been in the middle of the ocean on cruise ship for the last couple weeks and I just got back. So I'm kinda out of the loop. Especially with the NFL. As for Loadholt, I have mixed feelings. He's been called everything from a dominating blocker to being lazy. I've seen his lazy side (mainly the 2006-07 seasons) where he was put on his butt more than a few times. But he did look much better this past season. Probably because he had some good people around him. But wait until you see this kid. He's HUGE. Personally, I think he'll make a better pass blocker because of his sheer size. So that's where they might use him the most. I'm curious to see how he conforms to the pros. His work ethic from this season will have to carry over to the pros. One nice thing going for him coming in is he had one of the best and hardest to work for conditioning coaches in the country when he was at OU. So this should help him.

IMO, taking an OL or DT in the first round is a good pick....unless a franchise QB (a Petyon Manning type) or franchise RB (A. Peterson type) is available.

Loadholt played a lot of games and played at a high level. He should be ready to contribute right away. Sure, he'll have a learning curve, but most OLs do. I think it was a good pick....

Loadholt has trouble with defensive players that have good speed. I personally do not think he will do well in the pros, but we'll see . . . .
