No he isn't, no where close to top 10. He lost his job at Arsenal to Manuel Almunia who can't even get a call up from Spain.
He is a decent keeper but in his games over the past year he has made A LOT of mistakes. He is ok, more likely to lose you a game than win you one.
There are easily 10, maybe 20 keepers in the world better than he is.

in contrast, Spain's GK is #1 in the world imo. certainly top 3. i watch a TON of real madrid and they score so many goals his great play sometimes gets lost in the shuffle

It's Arthur Boruc, and I consider him the best goalie in the tournament. This guy was the only reason that Poland didn't lose every game by more than three goals. He was the only guy that played in the games. He had like 20 significant touches on the ball when they played Austria. This guy is a beast. But when it comes to the matchup between Lehmann and Casillas, Casillas is obviously superior. Lehmann looks weaks and nervous in goal. He had two horrible goals scored on him against Turkey. Almost everytime that Turkey got a decent shot on target, the ball went in because Lehmann sucks. I honestly think the Final is going to suck (I hate Spain's type of play), but Spain will probably win because they have a strong defense and Germany's offenders are weak. Let's be honest - Maurio Gomes is complete shit. Hinklsperger, that guy is worse than anyone I've seen playing in a while. Podolski is on the wing so he has to continue playing the ball into the middle to get it off Klose's amazing header or Schweignsteiger. Sergio Ramos and Puyol will put these men down. And well then in the front, David Villa and Cesc Fabregas are going to kill it. Overall I think Spain will win and the game will go under 2.5. Good luck.
You're crazy bro, Gianluigi was brilliant in the Euros. He bailed an injury/yellow carded defense out many of time. Don't forget the PK in the 2nd half against Romania, which was the best keeper save i've seen in a long time.
I love Madrid, but Casillas is probably the 2nd or 3rd best keeper in the world.

He is not good at all. He doesn't even seem that confident in net. I would say Casillas is the top keeper in the world, so Spain has a huge advantage there. I think Germany has the better overall team though, so I see this as a close game that could go either way.
As for Buffon I don't have him in my top 3. I personally like Casillas, Boruc, Van der sar and Cech more, but that is just my opinion.
