PROJECTED ELECTION RESULTS
CDU/CSU: 35.4%
SPD: 34.2%
Free Democrats: 10%
Greens: 8.1%
Left Party: 8.5%
Other 3.8%

Source: ARD television

So third parties make up 30% of the votes cast.

(Anyway, you're confusing anti-american with anti-Bush.)

My political science professor would have a hard on over that. He hates our 2 party system. He also said John Roberts scares him more than Al'Quiada does.

From wire reports

BERLIN — Conservative challenger Angela Merkel narrowly won German elections Sunday but fell short of a clear mandate to govern, as Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder staged a dramatic comeback and proclaimed that he should head the next government.

Conservative leader Angela Merkel and the chairman of Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder's Social Democrats said Monday they both had initiated contacts with potential coalition partners as they wrestled over what government will emerge from Germany's inconclusive parliamentary election. Merkel urged her rival's party to "accept that they are not the strongest party" after Sunday's election and enter talks on a broad right-left alliance under her leadership. But within minutes, the chairman of the Social Democrats, Franz Muentefering, said he had written to other party leaders to invite them to hold talks on a new coalition.
