I played Ark +1. This is NOT a vintage UGA team. By the skin of their ass, Ga should be 0-2 going to Ark. Ga venturing to a rested quality foe after 2 gut wrenching games. The Ga tank is operating on fumes. Sooey, Hogs! :toast::103631605 LT

I think Ryan Mallett is a fraud, but I also thought Stephen Garcia was a fraud and he looked like a Heisman candidate against UGA.

Furmanski, as a UGA guy, what is your take on Ga's mental and physical state after the last 2 games? To me, having to go on the road after fighting their guts out against USCe is a tough chore. Especially against a rested and fresh foe. Thanks in advance. :103631605 LT

Georgia is battle tested. Rest this time of year(September) means nothing. S.W. Missouri St. couldn't beat a lot of junior varsities. I already see Arkansas favored(The GREEK), and rising.

I think there are 2 ways you can look at the first 2 games for UGA.

1) you could say that the team has a good sense of who they are and what they can do offensively and defensively since they have played 2 quality opponents. I am not sure if we had played a "directional state school" we would have a full grasp of the team's capabilities yet.

2) The first 2 games were very physical and we have lost 2 key players to season-ending ACL injuries which is never a good thing.

From a mental aspect, I have no doubt that Richt will have the team ready for Saturday. I just hope they will be ready physically.

We all have a pretty good idea by now of how good Georgia is. But all we have to base Arkansas on is their game with Missouri St. Everybody remembers their win over LSU in the last game of the season last year. But forget that they lost to South Carolina and Mississippi St. in their 2 games before that. A good situational spot for Arkansas. But still a tough call.

I rarely play UGA games against spread...but like the dogs here. Askansas is severely hyped for nothing. Mallett is definitely a fraud. Arkansas has no defense. UGA turned it over constantly inside their own redzone and threw a pick 6 last week. The Defense was on the field the entire 1st quarter and we still won the football game. With Houston returning at DE, Uga will hope for some pressure from the D Line. If they get it...Ark will not stand a chance.

ALSO:

Uga ALWAYS plays tough, ugly games against south carolina and regularly start slow. UGA also tends to play extremely well on the road and get better as the season goes. Willie Martinez will be on the hot seat and Joe Cox will need a big game. UGA has a lot to prove.

Arky has a big offense and Mallett is for real. Arky was also off and has the benefit of getting to see UGA in a battle where they couldn't hold anything back. UGA knows nothing about Arky. UGA's secondary is a complete mess as we saw Saturday night. UGA also has to be a bit tired after the last two weeks. This sets up very well for Arky IMO. Not to mention it's a night game and the Hawgs will be fired up. UGA is in trouble IMO.

Let's see what Mallet can do against a defense other than a Misouri State one before we call him the real deal.

I actually totally disagree about UGA's secondary being a complete mess. I know that Garcia had over 300 yards passing, but nearly all of them were underneath passes. I actually think the secondary performed very well. Their issue was in the center of the field, and allowed South Carolina to dump the ball off the whole game. Notice that UGA forced SC to 5 FG's, so when the time arose, the secondary stepped up.

I do understand that Arky has had 2 weeks to prepare for UGA and didn't show much against Mizzou St., so we will see what that means. UGA has more playmakers on the field than does Arky.
