Espcially GD cause I know you worked in the casino industry and thought you might be able to help me.

Trying to put together a list of books in Vegas that arent using the same lines. I know a lot of properties are together. Without listing every book I thought you might be able to scan my list and tell me if any of these books use the same numbers or use the same line service, etc... I think I have narrowed it down but I am not sure. I have did a little bit of research and here is what I have came up with.

Basically what I am trying to do is make sure I am not hitting the same properties when I go to these in the same day. Trying to route some of this out. From what you know about the industry, all books with Harrah's move when a line moves at any of there properties, correct? That is the norm correct?

All these books use different line services and arent associated with each other in any way shape or form?:

Red Rock
Suncoast
Rampart
Golden Nugget
Plaza
Sahara
Circus Circus (they are with MGM properties like Mirage?)
Hilton
Wynn
Venitian
Palms
Ruscany
Hard Rock
Silverton
Southpoint
Planet Hollywood

I know a lot of these books have numerous properties included with them like Sahara is Leroy's but I am just using them as the Leroys example. Not sure if there is a website that may weed some of this info out. I found some nice info at vegas.com but think it might be dated.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have another question later about this. Thanks!!

Just going to copy and past and go over them:

Red Rock- Station Casinos
Suncoast- Coast/Boyd Casinos
Rampart- Cannery/Rampart
Golden Nugget- Independent
Plaza- Lucky's
Sahara- ??? Leroy's, I guess
Circus Circus- MGM/Mirage/Mandalay
Hilton- Independent
Wynn- Independent
Venetian- Independent
Palms- Independent (no NBA)
Tuscany- Cal/Neva
Hard Rock- Independent
Silverton- have no idea, never been in the place

Southpoint- Gaughan Property, same as El Cortez
Planet Hollywood- Independent

Hope that helps, any other questions just ask.

so it looks like none were associated with each other.

which leads me to 2 more quick questions:

1) I am pretty sure this one is obvious, all MGM property lines have the same numbers up at all times, correct? You cant go to the Mirage and have Houston -5 and someone else can be at Circus Circus and they have Houston -4.5 up there.

2) You think of any other books off the top of your head not on my list that are independent? poker palace, Jerry's nugget, bellagio, treasure island what about them?

3) in your opinion where do the biggest betting tourist types bet or what books get the least professional action and the most square action? I have heard opinions from a few different people and was wondering what your opinion is. Basically I can only be so many different places while working by myself so I want to hit a few different places here and there when I have the time.

Thanks!!

Tip - when you finally do begin making the rounds make sure you have comfortable and well fitting footwear. Take it from a former Vegas resident who for a few years made a living by playing at a wide spread field of books. The thing that was the most bothersome was all the hoofing, your feet will hurt until you get in top walking shape for the job. It's no joke at the end of the day. Buy one of those foot massage deals for use at night, you will thank me.

I know I sound a little like a pos but sore dogs are no joke when you need them to make a living. I don't know why, but between the asphalt streets, the cement sidewalks, and the carpeting inside the casinos that cause your feet to hurt more than just a long hike would for example.

Get some of those super comfortable walking shoes and break them in slow.

Silverton is operated by Leroys.

And they don't take NBA action because the owner of the Silverton has an interest in the Lakers I believe. I really don't understand why they don't since Leroys is independent from the hotel/casino.

Thanks wil. Your the 2nd guy that has told me this in the past week. Point taken:103631605. No more sandals for me.

I will respond further about this in my other thread. Not sure how much running around I plan on doing. Still trying to figure out if that is the way to go or stay at home online for most of my plays. I may still go partners with a few different people but that is still up in the air also.

I am almost positive that they don't take hockey action either. I think the interest has something to do with the Staples Center.

With Cell phones now allowed in sportsbooks, the walking should go down considerably. Every advantage bettor out there would be wise to become part of a team.

1) Yes, they all have the same numbers as do Harrah's/Caesar's books. Hopefully with Robert Walker gone you won't see as many over -170's.

2) Bellagio and TI are both part of MGM/Mandalay/Mirage. Just going to Poker Palace is negative EV, don't bother. Jerry's Nugget probably won't take big action either, they go through about 5 different managers a year.

3) In case you haven't already gone to the DMV. Don't give up your out-of-state ID. Tell them you lost it and keep it. Then I'd collect a few room keys as well from hotels. Once you are known as a local, lots of places aren't going to take any serious action from you. Also, you can get a few "Fishhead special" coupon books with the out-of-state ID (and a free drink at Casino Royale to boot).

You might consider getting a pair of orthotics for your feet. They supposedly take a lot of pressure off.

GD,
If I go at this alone and it appears more and more that this might be the way I am leaning, I am far far from a big bettor. Under $500 on every game unless I try and middle it. I am pretty sure I will fly under the radar which is fine with me. I backed off an oppurtunity earlier because of how much money was being bet and I dont want any reputation round town.

Sean,
I had this talk with another guy yesterday. I completely agree you have to some sort of partner or 2 ideally to take advantage of any of this. I hit the pavement a little today and thought how much better I could have did with another few with me. The problem (and it is a big one) is getting everyone on the same page. I want to be in a situation where I am calling the shots and for that to happen I would need to be with someone who is a lot less into this than myself that I trusted, etc.. Not sure if I want to go that route.

Ice,
$100 is a big bet in some of these places you are talking about as far as flying under the radar. I'm not kidding.
