Pinnacle shows Gatti as 6 to 1 favorite. Ridiculous!! Granted, he should win but those odds reflect his popularity as an awesome brawler. Leija is a seasoned boxer with a very respectable record. This could be close and its worth a look even if boxing is not your thing.

It's killing me that I'm missing Gatti's first fight since Terron Millett. However since McGirt has gotten a hold of Gatti, his brawling ways, while still there aren't anywhere near the way he used to fight (Robinson, Ruelas, Gatti/Ward I, Patterson, Rodriguez, Manfredy). I expect him to fight a cautious, technical fight with flurries of brawling in order to secure his big PPV payday against Floyd Mayweather. I just wish it was in AC. Maybe the winner of Gatti/Mayweather gets the winner of Tzysu-Hatton.

A.. Gatti in 5 or 6 rounds. I know Jesse pretty well and as soon as the punches start hurting too much, he will go down although he will probably be cut by then. Jesse would have a chance against a younger guy but not with that much experience. His best fights were against Azumah Nelson.

Don't waste your MONEY! Jesse has done more with his limited talent and still makes a decent amount of money than many boxers that are more talented. He still lives in his old neighborhood that he grew up in. He is a very classy individual and well respected in the community.

BigTex, you couldn't have said it any better as Leija flat out quit. I used to have respect for him, but after last night those feelings have definately changed. Sure he has taken a lot of abuse over his long and storied career, but to lay down like he did last night was a disgrace. Hopefully he enjoys his $600,000 and never returns to the ring.

I had nothing on this fight. However, I did find it very disturbing as Leija layed down last night just when things began to get rough for him.

I am so disgusted because I lost 3 dimes because of him when he defeated Bojado, something that should have never happened because I knew what Leija was capable of...not much. Everyone tried to build Leija up after his win over Bojado and make him a credible opponent for Gatti. I was not buying it.

The odds for this fight were as they should have been. Leija is pure garbage. I don't even know if the ring is for him anymore. He spent more time in the ring being courteous to Gatti last night than he spent putting up a good fight.

Kassim Ouma, from my hometown, is the real deal. I happened to meet him this past summer as I was entering the Harriet Himmel Theater to watch some local fight action. During the fights, he sat with Buddy McGirt and hung out with some other fighters. He is a very down to earth kind of guy. I see a bright future ahead for him. He can really take a shot. It puzzles me that he was KO'd earlier in his career in the first round by someone that I have never even heard of. I would love to see him in against Winky Wright.

Jesse is a godo fighter, but he has never been known as a tough guy. I did think that his skills would give Arturo problems, like Branco did. But Gatti really impressed me last night. His jab looked good, and he still has the power to put anybody down. I think that Gatti will have a shot against Mayweather, but he will def be a 3-1 or 4-1 underdog. I give him a better shot against Tszyu, just because of styles.

Hindsight is 20/20

If you really thought that Leija was garbage, why didn't you play Gatti -500, Gatti inside distance -130, or Gatti in rounds 4-6 +585 like I did. This fight was the easiest money I have seen in two years and you didn't see any of it.
In the future you might want to start posting info before the fights go off. And if you thought Leija was garbage, why didn't you play Gatti inside distance at -130? This was possibly the biggest and easiest moneymaker of the year and you didn't make sh*t!

I posted everything you needed to know about this fight a month ago. Including the Bojado injury that set up this easy money opportunty.

Follow my threads from here on out and we'll see if we can make up the money you didn't win on the easiest play of the year.

Ill be honest, Boxlocks does a very good job at picking the fights, but come on. Maybe because im such a Gatti fan that I know him too well, but I have to say I would never lay 5-1 on Gatti, unless he was fighting someone 130 or lower. He is big and strong, but lets be honest, is he really that good. He always has that power. I will say that I have never seen the point of anyone braging after winning on a 5-1 favorite. Yea I had Rahman, who was only 3-1 over Meehan. I had Wright bigtime on Mosley. That was stealing money too, but There is never easy money in Boxing. Too many things can happen.. Hopefully nobody has to rip someone apart for their opinion on here in the future. Maybe the guy lose money on the fight and is pissed off. We have all been there. Lets just help eachother out.

Yeah, we boxing bettors should help each other out or at least be respectful to one another. The linesmakers are getting REAL good and good lines(mistakes) are harder to find these days. The days of laying -300 on so and so fighter are gone. If you want to survive, you cant lay the juice. PEACE!!!

I was truly shocked at the boldness of your post. I also found it somewhat humorous.

But for your information, I don't care too much for Gatti either. If you look at his record, who has Gatti ever beaten? He has given fight fans their money's worth every time he steps into the ring. But he has never beaten, IMO, a solid world class fighter. In addition, Gatti was at one time known for bleeding easily and injuring his hands in the ring. For those reasons, I would never lay 5-1 or anything near that number on Gatti no matter who he fights at this stage of his career. It does not matter who he fights.

Another thing....in the past year, I have had lots of bad luck when Ronnie Shields is involved in bouts on which I have had wagers. In the Barrett vs Guinn bout, Shields was in Guinn's corner and Guinn looked nothing like himself and cost me 10 dimes. Four months later, I take Bojado over Leija and the upset occurs costing me 3 more dimes. Shields was in Leija's corner. And those were my only major losses (dime or more) on boxing last year. For me, if I bet 3 dimes against a fighter, I consider that fighter garbage ( yes, I thought Barrett was garbage also...I am still not high on him and hurried to do some research on Beck). I was not at all impressed with Leija when he fought Tszyu. He layed down in that bout as well. That was fresh in my mind when I bet against Leija in the Bojado bout.

And just because I don't post, it does not mean that I don't still make wagers. I took Ouma to win $100 at Pinny. I have lowered my stakes considerably since my debacles of 2004.

I suggest that you not be so high on yourself. It is not as if all of your posts come through. If I remember correctly, you also bet Gatti in Rds 1-3 and Wonjongkam over 9.5 -120, which both came out on the losing end.

Maybe I was a little harsh, but I was being arrogant on purpose. This guy is arrogant on regular basis and I hate it when guys post opinions after fights are over, saying I knew this or I knew that.

Last week I posted a small play on Etienne +220 and right around fight time he posts this in my thread..."Brock should breeze through Etienne". What was the point of posting that, the fight was off the board and he didn't even say why he thought Brock would win. Of course Brock "should" beat Etienne, thats why he was a 2.5 to 1 favorite, it was an arrogant worthless post just like mine.

I apologize, it will never happen again

For the record I have a parlay pending on Wonjongkam / Larios that will cover the over loss. I posted it at the other forum, should have posted it here, my bad. I laid more on the Gatti in rounds 4-6 than I did on the 1-3 at +1000, also posted at the other forum, and made plenty on that prop to cover the tiny loss of the other.

Valdosta, don't be a hypocrit, you are the most arrogant poster I've seen

I was out of line but I had a reason for doing it, again I apologize

Arrogant? I say what I think and that's about it. That's what these message baoprds are for. If you find factual posts to be arrogant than I guess you got me. I am a hypocrite :Countdown Your problem with me has always stemmed from the fact that you don't like when I question something you post. I really don't care.

This pretty much explains why you made the "arrogant" post in the first place.

I posted that info on the Brock fight, when I did, simply because it was my first opportunity to reply or add any information. I used to be known as the "Boxing Freak" before The RX changed servers. Since, I have used tgoodm1 because I preferred not to lose my number of posts. So, in other words, I feel that I should have earned enough credibility to the point that even limited info posted by me should serve as sufficient.

If you knew anything about either fighter in that bout (Etienne vs Brock), you would have known about Etienne's inability to take a punch. Not just because Tyson KO'd him in less than a round, but because he lost to sorry ass Fres Oquendo by TKO and was down 7 times in that fight. He visits the canvas frequently. And from what I had seen in Brock, I figured he was stronger and hungrier and had much more to lose than Etienne.

Also, I figured at the time that it would have been a waste of time to draw up an analysis at the last minute when many would not have had the opportunity to read it. Aside from that, I didn't even wager on the fight. So I kept it brief and to the point. I am not a fan of just throwing money on underdogs just because they appear to be fit or minimally capable of pulling off an upset. You posted that Etienne had a shot and I was basically posting that he had no shot. That is all.

No need to hold grudges.

This is the second time that a Gatti thread in which I have posted has stirred up emotions. It is totally unintentional. :sad3:

If Etienne had "no shot" why didn't you play Brock?

You say you're not a fan of just throwing money on underdogs, are you saying thats what I do? If so I must have got lucky this weekend as I also hit the Dieppa-Sanchez under at +220 to go along with Gatti in 4-6 +585. So far this year my dogs are 4-3 for +1.6 units, I wouldn't call that "just throwing money around".

Here's the kicker, last year I played the underdog on both of your debacles. I took Leija +450 over Bojado and Barrett +350 over Guinn, also played the over in both fights for a very nice payday in case you're wondering, all plays were posted at the other forum. I got lucky on Leija for reasons already mentioned, but Barrett dominated Guinn in his hometown. I'm surprised you layed 3 dimes on a fighter as overrated and underskilled as Guinn.

For the record, I already played Beck +170 small. I read some very good things about Beck, and like you I'm not real impressed with Barrett. The King factor on Beck's side definitly helped my decision.

To be honest I should have just left this whole thing alone, but since its too late let me explain where I'm coming from.

sean8499 started this thread by offering his opinion and pick for the fight prior to the fight going off. He put himself out there and tried to help others which is the purpose of this forum. Win or lose I respect that even if I'm on the other side.

This fight has been on the board for a month, if you had an opinion you should have posted it before the fight went off. Instead you waited till the fight was over and then came in here saying you knew this, and you knew that, and Leija is garbage. IMO thats a weak move, you could have at least came into my thread and said those things since I was on Gatti, instead of coming into a pro-Leija thread and rubbing it in that you knew better.

The useless, arrogant, and ego driven reply to my thread just showed me your lack of class and character. It was a combination of the two that made me want to give you a taste of you're own medicine.

Believe it or not, I'm not the bad guy here. All I have done since I came here is post winners and information leading to winners, thats the purpose of these forums. So it pisses me off when someone choses to criticize another guys plays instead of posting their own. And posting opinions after a fight is over just doesn't sit well with me.

1. Just because I visit this site, it does not mean that I am a compulsive gambler. I took shots as I did last year because I had been on a 1 1/2 year run of more winning than losing.

2. I did not lay 3 dimes on Guinn. It was 10.

3. Just because Guinn lost, it does not mean that he is underskilled. I honestly believe that he has the skill and ability. His heart is what has to be questioned. I just feel that at this stage of his career, Guinn has realized that boxing is not what he really wants in life. It's what others want for him.

4. It takes a real man to admit his losses. Why haven't you? You make it sound like everything you play is a winner. Get real dude.

5. No, I was not wondering about your bets.
