Chris Culliver is suspended for the 1H of the game with UF. Akeem Auguste was slated to start in his place but he's hurt and now questionable for the game.

Spurrier said Dion LeCorn will likely move to Safety to fill that spot.


Moe Brown has a knee sprain and will more than likely miss the game.

Whats going to happen is this. Culliver suspended for the 1st half. Auguste is expected to play. In the event he does not, LeCorn will not play safety, he isn't fast enough. Stoney Woodson will move over from corner and play safety. Woodson and Thomas split time at corner but Woodson also has played safety

This from SC rivals insider notes that you can't access without a GCC membership: Speaking of Auguste, he is expected to be ready to play this weekend. If he ends up being limited the staff has the flexibility of moving Stoney Woodson or Darian Stewart to that safety spot, with Woodson being the most likely.

i am a south carolina fan, been to every game, and this injury could be big in this game. culliver, is out the first half, and aguste might not play, we have a lot of depth on defense, but these two guys play a lot and play very physical and will be missed. that being said, i still think we can play within the number if our offense can keep our defense off the feel. our defense will be the best florida has played all year, but florida is really talented on offense and wouldn't be shocked if they cover the number.

It is now being reported that Auguste's injury is looking worse and it is questionable whether he will even make the trip to Gainesville. Without him, look for the Gators to try and exploit the middle of the Gamecock secondary in the first half to leave no doubt by halftime.

Also, Moe Brown (WR) has a strained MCL and his status is up in the air. Although his absence will not be nearly the impact as SoCar having to play their 3rd string FS for the first half.

I am a gamecock alum and a member to rivals gamecockcentral.com. No where has it been reported that Auguste isn't making the trip and actually today they reported that they expect him to play. In the event that he does not, look for SC to line Carlos Thomas at CB opposite Munnerlyn and for Stoney Woodson to play in Cullivers spot. This really is not a drop off at all, the speed remains intact in the secondary and Woodson is a senior with tons of experience at CB/S. Now, if SC puts LeCorn back there, thats a different story, he will be picked on and is too slow but they won't do that.
