CWS -137 over Det
McCarthy/Robertson
Detroit beat the White Sox on Monday but the White Sox are in desperation mode. Detroit has only won 1 game in their last 10 that Robertson has started while the White Sox won 5 starts in a row until losing McCarthy's last start.

McCarthy will be focused due to the loss and the Sox will be focused due to their loss on Monday. Robertson has been giving up the earned runs while McCarthy has pitched very well.

My major concern is:

White Sox are 71-42 vs RHS and 23-19 vs LHS

I would be careful with this Pick I watched them play last night and they suck! It looks like they just don't care anymore.Come on they are playing Detroit and can't seem to get a win in .Cleveland is breathing down their necks and still can only score 3 runs .I blew 600.00 on them last night with the Bookie .I thought it was the game of the year but when I was watching it I knew I lost my money before it wa seven over .

Be careful and try to find another game to lay your money on.

Go Cleveland!!!

The team definitely cares, they are just poorly managed.

Last night's loss goes 100% to Ozzie Guillen who first off lets AJ Pierzynski hit with runners on 2nd 3rd 1 out in the 8th against a tough lefty when he has 2 righthanded batting catchers on the bench, of course he strikes out, they walk Konerko, and Dye strikes out.

In the 9th they get the leadoff man on and does he have Rowand bunt? No, and he promptly pops out to first on the first pitch.

Then he leaves Politte in to pitch a second inning and face a tough young lefty bat in Granderson when he could have used Marte and then gone to Jenks or Hermanson. Result? Leadoff walk off HR on the first pitch.

There were other errors by Guillen in the game, but the endgame was just brutal.

A team that relies on pitching, defense, and timely hitting needs their manager to have his head in the freaking game and thinking two moves ahead and Guillen has blown at least 3 games in the last two weeks with piss poor bullpen management and poor decision making.

One other point to mention, before Rowand came to the plate, he pinch ran for Everett with Willie Harris which tells me that he will likely not be bunting if I am the opposing manager. Everett has good enough wheels to get to 2nd on a bunt.

So to me, Guillen even tipped his hand ahead of time which makes it easier on the pitcher if he's not worried about fielding a bunt.

If he was going to bunt, he leaves Everett in the game, then pinch runs after he makes it to 2nd.

Once Rowand pops out, does Harris ever attempt to run and move into scoring position? NO. Another poor decision as it will either take two hits or an extra base hit which Detroit was guarding against by the way. This in my opinion is what is wrong with MLB these days. These guys are such prima donnas that if you are considered a run producer for your club(i.e Rowand) the manager won't even ask you to bunt on the road with a runner on and none out which is baseball 101.

Back in the day I can still remember George Freaking Foster laying down a bunt as the CLEANUP hitter for the Reds to sacrifice in the 9th in the same situation in a year in which he hit 52 freakin HR's!!!!

Ask even a guy with 20+ HR power to bunt these days and you will have a mutiny on your hands, I mean for god's sake it was AARON FREAKIN ROWAND not Babe Ruth at the plate.

I am still steamed over this play as it was my largest of the season and should have never lost.

One more thing while I am ranting, my BIGGEST PET PEAVE is the failure night after night after night watching MLB players be unable to get runners home from 3rd with less than 2 out.

Back when I was growing up, I am QUITE sure that the numbers on this league wide were easily over 50% and I saw a stat last week that said that the league average in that situation is under 40%, THAT my friends is a JOKE, especially when you consider the number of times that teams play back and concede the run to avoid a big inning. I see guys strike out or pop up weakly over and over and over again every night yet the average salary is more than an average american will make in their lifetime.

OK, I went to the bathroom and when I came back it said he had flew out to 1st so I assumed it was a popup down the line or something.

Still steaming over letting Pierzynski hit more than anything.

Good feedback guys.

I too had a concern that the Sox did not play well yesterday. However they won 3 in a row against Minnesota in the previous series so they aren't playing poorly overall.

I've seen too many teams come off a home series only to lose the first game on the road. I think they will be more focused in this game with the sense of urgency. The pitching mismatch will make a big difference here as well. Robertson has been a consistent loser for Detroit both at home and on the road.

Couldn't agree more. You must have Rowand bunt in that situation. Ozzie is just a very poor strategist.

Another road chalk the WS are, and you know what usually happens to those road chalks. Baseball always seems to come to the bullpens in the 8th or 9th or even before. Would be very difficult for me to lay the wood on the road unless i thought starter could go the distance. JMHO

IF A.J PYZENSKI how ever the hell you spell that catchers name is batting in the 3 hole avoid thisteam. REALLY does any team have a worse 3 spot hitter in the entire league than a slow .257 hitting catcher. i see there lack of power but that was rediculous last night.

What a piece of crap this team is. They only get 1 run off Norbert Robertson. I hope they crash and burn from here on out.

Go Cleveland!
