I think teams that are on back to back after a ROAD game in which they had to have a fourth quarter come back (trailing after the 3rd quarter and get the Victory in the game) to win don't generally play well in their next game.
Examples:
(-)1/19 Spurs @ Bobcats, come back win with a 23-16 4th Q. Next day travel home and win 99-81 vs. Indiana.
(+)1/30 Golden State @ New Orleans, come back win in the 4th quarter 28-22 4th with a 91-87 final score.
Next day @ Houston they lost 93-110
(+)2/2 Spurs @ GSW comeback, 20-16 4th quarter after being down by 12 at the beginning of the 4th quarter, forced OT and won.
Spurs @ Denver the next night trailed by DD for a lot of the game, and lost by 8.
(+)2/3 Timberwolves W 116-111 @ Indiana, MN won the 4th quarter 38-29.
Timberwolves traveled home and lost to Atlanta who was playing w/out JJ.
(?)2/4 Lakers W 115-107 @ Toronto, LAL won the 4th quarter 30-20.
LAL travel to Boston, and ???????.
None of these teams covered the spread in this situation. And this is every game that fits this criteria dating back to January 27.
Trend (as a positive note) is 3-1 ATS since January 19. I have not looked farther back for these situations.
Lakers @ Boston fits this trend. And it says that Boston will cover tonight.
