Regardless of the starters - this game is going to be decided by the Pens.
Major advantage in the last 10 games are the Phillies.

The Phillies era is outstanding at 2.27 for the relievers. Zona era is 3.82.
Important that the last 10 games are only what is used here.

This stat is against all winning record teams - so its NOT over-rated by facing bad teams in this factor to evaluate the true era for the playoffs..
The only thing to be concerned with, is the stupid 3 batter faced rule. Its been the killer all season to teams with leads...Just ask Terry Francona.

No. you cant overlook the Pens. Any starter with a better era than the relievers will still qualify. So using the better team with better era is the answer. BUT we still have the 3 batter rule. That takes it right back to the best pitcher with the best era.
Also starters usually need more time to loosen up when relievers are susally ready and up to spreed in 20 pitches in the Pen warning up.
Teams should have pitchers warning up in the first inning and throughout the game.
AT one point this year and maybe last year, the Dodgers mastered the Pen games during the season.

I just did more checking and the best info of all was the last 5 games with Pens and starter stats.
WHY? Because the five games were between AZ and Phillies in this series.. Thats even more revealing.

Starters era. Last 5 games.
Phillies. 2.70
Backs. 4.30

Phillies Pen era. 3.44
Zona Pen era. 5.23
