Xmas comes early here. sometimes you actually get what you wish for - and in this case - i got EXACTLY what i wished for. i wished for a kings win wednesday over ottawa - and i got it.
wednesday ottawa opened -1/2 -120 against the kings. friday's game @ the (not-so) mighty ducks opened -1/2 -105.
if there was ever any doubt how/why books are CLUELESS about hockey - that debate should now be over.
let me see if i get this straight? the sens opened a bigger fave against the better team in the so cal area than they did against what will be one of the worst teams in the nhl come season's end - and right now? do i have this right?
wednesday prusek played instead of lalime. gotta think lalime plays friday - a rested lalime.
as for the ducks - as i have said earlier - they are on a list of teams i will be fading until shown a reason to do otherwise (carolina, pittsburgh and NYR are also on that list). forget that they are the defending WC champs and came withing 60 minutes of winning the cup. thankfully the clueless books haven't forgotten and as a result they are inflating the line towards the ducks' way - when they should be doing the opposite.
honestly - i don't see how this game will be close. i'd be stunned if the sens don't win this game by at least 2 goals - if not more. after this game the sens travel to SJ to play saturday night - meaning a 3-in-4 situation. with that in mind - they DEFINITELY don't want to let these 2 points get away - and they won't.
sens let one get away wednesday in L.A. they won't let one get away here. if (when?) the sens get up 3-1 over anaheim - they will not let up.
i like the football card for this weekend - but in all honesty - ottawa in this game is the VERY BEST PLAY for the fri-mon weekend regardless of sport.
