I've been reading in the local forums that Mathews may even be done for the season apparently due to nerve damage (anyone confirm this?!?) Pat Hill is fairly stubborn with the ground game, they did throw up alot of passes last week with good percentage. Look for Fresno to do the same this game. They've only lost by 3, 3 times this year...

Nevada a odd defense great a stopping the run however terrible pass defense... if Fresno goes to the air, few trick plays, they may be able to put a bunch up (just to keep it close) if they stick to the ground they're toast. Nevada's QB and RB tear up the ground, Fresno's defense will have their hands full all night, who only average 1 Sack/game and should be exposed all night...seems like it will come down to the last few drives.

For the record, a couple of weeks ago Fresno barely squeaked out a 2 pt. win at Utah St. against the now 2-7 Aggies. Than a week later went to Lousiana Tech and lost a tough one after being ahead a TD at half. Now they come home and lose a heartbraker in Bulldog stadium just as they did against Wisconsin and Hawaii after playing 2 tough games on the road.
ope:It is surprising that Fresno has played so poorly this year in WAC play. I think they'll get it turned around. They were good enough to be a TD favorite @ UCLA and they were only a small dog to Wisky at home. Think the line value is with Frez, but the way they have played recently, i'm not pulling the trigger on them. There is no way i'm taking Nevada either because i know Frez is capable of much better and an explosion from them could be imminent.
Under Pat Hill's "anyone, anywhere, anytime" watch, this Bulldog team has been notorious for playing to their level of competition. For a primetime TV game against a good team, I'd be stunned if they don't bring a big effort here tonight.

Well I sided with Nevada, since lastnight it was Nevada in my head or no play... 10 minutes after I pick my play I see about 10 guys on different forums, all with under 100 posts all saying "NEVADA !!!"

I wouldn't worry too much. Most places I've seen have at least 55% of bettors on Fresno. The majority of posters on a couple forums I've been to like Nevada. IMO if you're posting on a forum you're already > the betting public. Plus Nevada opened as dogs and are now favorites.

That's pretty much why I like UNDER 14.5 in the first quarter.
You're asking teams who love to run the ball and establish the run early to score on good rushing defenses.
And you're asking 3 scores in a quarter, that's pretty difficult to do.
