Race 1


(5) DING has terrific gate-speed, won at this last recently and starts from a good post. Expect a reasonable price. (4) DEAR ARYSS has hit the board in each of her last two starts and comes out of Gallucci's barn. (6) OLIVE THOMPSON has hit the board in three of her last four starts and remains at this same class.


Race 2


(6) VOELZ HANOVER won at this class in her first start of the season last week and once again is a top candidate. (4) WAASMULA has been racing at her best, draws well and is fresh off a win. (2) D GS PESQUERO draws inside and has hit the board in each of her last four starts.


Race 3


(5) MIYAGI HANOVER recovered well last week to finish fifth considering he made a miscue at the start. (9) GREAT WHITE WAY comes out of the McNair barn, qualified well and enjoyed a successful rookie campaign. (3) CHEVIOUS COLE draws inside and raced very well last week to finish third. A repeat effort makes him a top threat.


Race 4


(1) DAPPLE APPLE gets the rail and has won two straight in this class. (2) A REAL COMMITMENT draws inside and has hit the board in two of his last three starts at this class. (8) ROMANCE IN CAMELOT has excellent gate-speed, comes out of Montini's barn and gets McNair in the bike.


Race 5


(2) EXCUSE ME PLEASE scored a convincing win last week in this class and a repeat effort makes him a top candidate. (6) HOLY MOLIE MAGGIE comes out of the Menary barn and has proved to be very competitive at this level. She's versatile and gets Jamieson. (8) DUKESTER made a miscue last week in this class as the favourite, but won the start prior.


Race 6


This is a wide-open tilt, but (6) I GOT TO BOOGIE shows the speed needed, should offer a price and drops in class. (10) BETIT TO GETIT drops in class, has excellent gate-speed and is able to overcome post 10. (7) BRUSHSTROKES closed very well last week, will offer a price and will need the right off-the-pace trip.


Race 7


(7) ITS NO SECRET gets significant class relief and should be able to capitalize at this level. (2) EAT ME UP draws inside and raced very well for the debut of Moreau last week. She's a prime candidate once again. (1) ST LADS PEEPER gets the rail, comes out of the Wallace barn and comes out of the Preferred.


Race 8


(2) HOPE FOR PADDY draws well, drops in class and closed very well last week at a higher level. (1) LETS GO GET EM went a solid qualifier in her latest and a repeat effort from the qualifier makes him a top threat. (6) DREAMFAIR ECLIPLSE gets significant class relief, gets Waples and comes out of Fletcher's barn.


Race 9


(7) MAGIC LINDY raced very well last week considering she began from post 10. She draws better this week, has the speed and remains at the same class. (3) FALCOR BLUESTONE gets post relief, comes out of the Johnson barn and should be better placed in the early going. (4) STRONG HOPE was timed in 1:54 4/5 last week. A repeat effort makes him a top threat.


Race 10


(2) RAVISHNMASTERPIECE was a comfortable winner last week when put on the front. She remains at the same class with MacDonell back aboard. (4) NEFERTITI BLUECHIP comes out of the Darling barn, closed well last week and should be closer to the front this week. (1) VIOLET BAYAMA draws the rail and raced terrific to finish second last week considering she made a break at the start.


Race 11


(4) MAJOR DANCER comes out of the Coleman barn and was a comfortable winner last week at this class by open lengths. (9) NAT A VIRGIN qualified very well last week for Jones. She had an enjoyable campaign last year and appears ready at this class. (2) LEGAL PROCESS draws inside, comes out of the McNair barn and qualified strong in both efforts.

(3) UPFRONTSTRIKESGOLD Jersey invader makes his first trip to Yonkers and this could be a perfect spot for this gelding to take home top honors. (4) TURTLE EXPRESS got the job done as the chalk last time out. (8) TRADING PLACES beat lesser at Philly in her latest.


Race 3


Will take a shot with (8) BAD AS BART to mow these down from the 8-hole. (5) JW RACER flashed good speed in his last try. (2) M G HOME RUN gets post relief.


Race 4


(5) MAY DAY JOJO Gelding closed well for the place spot last out and has every right to move forward. (4) PICTONIAN PRIDE should do much better from the four slot. (1) SAMS TREASURE just got up for win honors in his recent trip to the post.


Race 5


(4) DAYLON MAGICIAN Meadowlands shipper brings his early zip to the Hilltop and good to see Sears at the helm. (5) NEIGHSAY HANOVER Very consistent trotter is a factor in here. (3) ELIN was sent down the road for all the glory in her last start.


Race 6


(1) KEYSTONE WANDA Pacing miss retains the rail slot and at her best, she could get the job done. (3) HULAS Z TAM has hit the board in her last four outings. (5) VIRGIN MARY has scored her last two in a row.


Race 7


(2) GIDDY UP DELIGHT His last run indicates he is ready to get back into the swing of things. (1) IDYLWOOD PHOENIX gets serious post relief and that could help his cause. (4) VIPER HANOVER should have speed from the 4-hole.


Race 8


(4) BLACKTUXWHITESOCKS could put it all together against these trotters; all systems go. (8) SUPER MANNING Tough break at the start recently but is better than that effort. (7) LORENZO DREAM has fine speed and is not out of this.


Race 9


(4) FLEX THE MUSCLE faced open foes last out upstate and this trotter has tactical speed and with the right trip, he could rate and score over these. (1) ON THE PODIUM moves back to the rail slot and could have a say from there. (6) BASTILLE was second best against lesser company in his recent outing.


Race 10


(4) VODKA IS TERROR goes for a new barn off a nice score last time out. Two straight is clearly not out of the question based on his sharp form. (2) AMILLIONPENNIES was nailed for win honors last time around; threat in here. (1) PUTNAMS ATTACK is knocking at the door.


Race 11


(3) SWEET JUSTICE gets class relief and this guy should find these to his liking. (1) SIM BROWN should fare quite well from the fence. (4) BOUND FOR FAME has put in some nice efforts; watch out.


Race 12


(3) CAROLS DESIRE Pacing miss is very capable of getting the job done at this level. (4) ARODASI Pocono invader gets post relief; threat. (6) KEEPERS DESTINY fits well in here; watch out.

Race 1


(9) PROPULSION was given a relaxing tour of the track in his first career start. Post nine is hardly ideal, but I’m not crazy about any of his competitors. (1) MUSCERENE put in a decent qualifier and could certainly move forward. (6) GURAL HANOVER ships east with a perfect record in one start. I can’t imagine they would come all this way if the gelding couldn’t play at this level. (8) MISTER BS WAY took plenty of action at the windows and made a break; another chance.


Race 2


(7) TRIXTON was absolutely awesome last week and is hard to pick against. (5) RAGAZZO DOLCE was super with the hobbles added. Let’s see if he can pick up his game in terms of pure speed. (1) ODDS ON AMETHYST raced well to start his 3-year-old season. Can he control the race tonight? And if he doesn’t get the lead, will he be happy chasing? Unless the price is very high, I might shy away from this guy tonight.


Race 3


(6) FIRSTCLASSPRINCESS gets a meaningful drop in class and finds a spot where an aggressive steer is in order. (4) DREAM DEFENCE N made a break in his U.S. debut at Yonkers, but I’m not ready to lose faith in this guy just yet. He could be forwardly placed in a field lacking a ton of early speed. (7) MARCH AWARENESS sports the best form in the field but may be at the mercy of the pace setup.


Race 4


(3) HEAVENS DOOR never found room in that qualifier, so I wouldn’t hold the fifth-place finish against her. Muscle Hill-sired filly has talent and I’m looking for her to be ready to fire. (1) MOONLIGHT IN MIAMI comes off a nice morning effort where she was basically coasting on her own late; dangerous. (2) DEMOISELLE HANOVER is another filly with some ability. Check her out on the track.


Race 5


(5) KEN DOLL J raced well in her first start since last October and posted some big miles at Lexington last year. (1) CARLOTTA BLUE CHIP picked up her game in her second qualifier of the year; chance. (4) UP FRONT ELIZABETH has dangerous speed.


Race 6


(5) MUSCLE NETWORK looks to be in a very easy spot to start his sophomore campaign. As long as he minds his manners, he should take a picture; adds hobbles. (4) MARTINIWITHMUSCLE is perfect in two starts this year; using. (2) SKATES N PLATES qualified well in his Smedshammer barn debut.


Race 7


(4) SIR LBS Z TAM is my least inspired pick on the card. This race is wide open and none of these really jump off the page. Hopefully Lachance works out a good trip. (1) LIL MISS SNOWFLAKE adds Tetrick and finds a soft spot. (3) WANNA WIN is an unknown quantity from Cal-Expo; maybe. (10) ENDURING DELIGHT might be the favorite from a better post.


Race 8


(6) FICO improved from his first to his second qualifier and flashed good ability as a 3-year-old. Staffan Lind trainee finds a good spot and should start the year off on a winning note.(3) GREEN HORNUT raced well in his last qualifier but I’m not sure he had more in the tank; mixed feelings. (7) REVRAC HARBOUR flashed some ability as a rookie but may take it easy in his first start of the year.


Race 9


(7) DROP THE BALL finds the easiest spot she has seen in years. Perhaps the 6-year-old mare has lost a step, but I’d be surprised if she didn’t fire on Friday. (4) HOT LIST raced pretty well last time and could be sitting a good trip close to the pace from this improved post. (3) OUR ELS DREAM N didn’t seem to enjoy being placed on the engine; another chance. (6) MARTY PARTY & (9) MATTIE TERROR GIRL are both sharp mares.


Race 10


(4) CALIPARI switches barns, adds Lasix and hobbles. Those are three legitimate angles against a lethargic group of C-2 trotters. (5) BOSSY VOLO drops down and should be the one to beat. (6) PTS BOOMERANG moves into a good trotting barn; maybe.


Race 11


(5) SHEBESTINGIN is the fastest female of all time. She should take care of business tonight. (2) JERSEYLICIOUS has put in a good showing as a 4-year-old and can continue to move forward. (7) ROCKLAMATION hasn’t shown her ‘A’ game this year. Maybe the big track will help.


Race 12


(8) ELLENS ISLE hasn’t come back in prime form this year but does return to the Meadowlands for the first time since July. Mare has put in some nice miles in New Jersey. (2) BROADWAY ROCKS has raced well in both 2014 starts. (9) TIGERS TOO GOOD drops down and has a strong closing kick.


Race 13


(6) CAROLSIDEAL returns to the Meadowlands at a reduced level. Mare is very capable and she usually offers value. (3) IDEAL GINNY had an interesting trip last time and now adds Pierce. (7) LEAVEUMLADY drops down in class for Burke/Gingras.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 ONEFORTHEBOYS (ML=3/1), #7 BLISTEREDANDBROKE (ML=7/2), #1 MR BAD BOY TOO (ML=6/1),

ONEFORTHEBOYS - Awfully hard to bet on this mount when he hasn't been showing any signs of readiness of late. Should be difficult for this horse to beat this bunch off of that last speed rating. Not likely to improve enough to run a figure close to today's class figure, so put him on the possibly overvalued contestants list. BLISTEREDANDBROKE - Doesn't seem to be in a comfortable situation in today's event. MR BAD BOY TOO - Not probable that this animal will finish better than he did last out when ending up seventh.

ROMPIN REID - This trainer brings horses to the grass ready to win, winning over 20 pct of the time under similar conditions. Looking at the past performances on all of these horses, this is the only one to stalk. Worth a serious look at this animal. I like that latest effort on Apr 19th at Gulfstream where he ran third. In my opinion, you need 'class' to be successful on the turf. This one has the highest average class figure in the field. S S DIXIE - Aboard this entrant on May 3rd and Zayas is right back in the irons in today's race. I believe Rodriguez is making a good move here. This gelding can only be aided by the shorter distance. Ranks uppermost in earnings per race entered. A solid effort in this race will add to the lifetime total.

PAY ANY PRICE - I'm foreseeing a less than stellar go out of him this time around. GRAND CONEY - This colt hasn't had any strong victories in sprint contests in the last couple of months. Unlikely that the speed fig he ********** on April 27th will be enough in this event. WILD PRAISE - Morning line odds of 6/1 make this mount a pass by my criteria.

WALKIN BAC - Shows signs of the look of a money-making play, averaging a solid 87 Equibase Speed Figure which is one of the most competitive in this group of horses in this race. Should go to the front end and could never look back. JESS SO HAPPENS - Valenzuela and Aleman are a potent pair for profits. Has to be given consideration - I like the figs from the last competition.

#6 NOT A LOVE SONG takes a class drop (-12) this afternoon, has excellent early speed abilities to compliment for this sprint, and has produce "POWER RUN PERFORMANCES" in each of her last four outings. #1 RYDERROO is the pace profile leader, and has hit the board in two of her last four starts, including an "apparent win" to break her maiden in her 4th race back, however, the stewards here at Santa Anita noted some bumping in the stretch, resulting that dreaded "DQ" in that race leaving her to race again this afternoon in the maiden ranks!

WONDERFUL MISS BEA - Took a class drop last out at Keeneland. Corrigan keeps her at the same level right here. I think that's a good move. Last ran at Keeneland and finished sixth. Reviewing her PP lines, I see she was close at the end, within five of the winner. TOHAVEANDTOHOLD - This campaigner coming off a sharp performance in the last month is a win candidate in my opinion. Maker drops this one in today for only her 2nd outing. Should do better than last out. This horse collects a lot of money per start. Number one in this event. Lasix can take some getting used to, especially for a filly. They usually hit stride the second time using it, like we have with this horse. POPPY'S DREAM - That 57 fig this filly earned in her last affair tells me she's a major player this time out. The April 25th event at Keeneland was at a class level of (76). Dropping down in class a significant amount, so she should be in a good spot to take this race. Gets help from McPeek with the addition of Lasix.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 LITTLEBITCRANKY (ML=4/1), #6 FAB AUTUMN GIRL (ML=9/2),

LITTLEBITCRANKY - Multiple attempts for this vulnerable equine at Churchill Downs and still hasn't received her first victory here. FAB AUTUMN GIRL - The speed ratings continue to fall, 62/54/47. Not a positive sign.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - POPPY'S DREAM - This filly was stuck in an outside post last time. Will fare better with an inner post.
