Two teams here who love to hit southpaws, game will probably be in sharp contrast to the low scoring SF game we bet yesterday. I do like this match-up a great deal at -123 though. Washburn was the ace of the world champions last year and even got a vote for Cy Young. Along the way he went 17 straight games without picking up a loss. Fossum is a guy who last year shuffled back and forth from the bullpen to being a starter early in the year. He even got sent down once to AAA, when he returned he did pitch decently. The problem (we hope) is Fossum's a smallish guy who tires greatly around 60 pitch mark or so. Rare for him to ever pitch into the 7th inning. Being the Red Sox bullpen has been piss poor of late (ERA over 6) this is another thing I think definitely works in our favor. While Fossum's season stats or his record isn't bad, in the 4 games he started he has faced Toronto twice and Tampa twice. I think he will find the going a little rougher today.
