Won last time out here as Hawaii's home field advantage continued to mystify newcomers.

Another conference mismatch, I'll take the better conference and Virginia's better defense. Fresno St's undersized defensive line will have trouble controlling the run and it all falls apart from there.

this game has ucla/wyoming written all over it.


UVA might be the better team - but how on earth can they be motivated to be playing in boise 2 days after xmas when they had aspirations of playing in a BCS game or some new year's day game. also - UVA has come up small in every big game they have played this season - and with that in mind - what's to say this isn't 1 more time they come up small in a big game?

i played fresno +5 and it won't shock me if/when fresno wins SU

both teams kicked the crap out of...and ran their stats up on the lower lights in their schedules....fresno`s last 4 wins were vs absolutely pathetic defenses....and the early season wins vs washington and k.st turned out to be not quite as impressive as originally thought...

miami,fla st and va tech ran on uva....and ran well....but,is fresno in that class?....i seriously doubt it...

both qb`s are pedestrian....hagans is not a great passer...he is mobile....pinegar can be a huge liability...and he`s a statue...

it all depends on uva`s mental...last year,fresno caught a bad ucla club with dorrell...groh compared to dorrell isn`t even worthy of discussion........

expect both clubs to stack the box...that`s where i expect uva`s excellent pass catching backs to break some big plays...and tight end miller will do some damage....

i expect qb pinegar to turn it over several times vs as strong a defense as fresno`s seen...even though uva`s secondary can be had...

a lean to uva-4.....thinking that the sos will make the difference...

uva`s defense is much tougher than ucla`s....and groh is much better than dorrell...

Disagree Winky. I dont see this a repeat of the Ucla/Wy game. The difference here is on the defensive side of the ball. Ucla has no defense and opponents are always in the ball game no matter how weak the conference. Throw out your starting QB (UCLA)and you have a straight up upset. Virginia's defense will dominate Fresno St's offense and the Virginia's offense will run at will. From a motivational angle, Fresno States players have taken care of motivating Virginia by getting in Virginia's face in the press and saying they don't respect Virginia and that Virginia is overrated. Ouch! You have just awoken the sleeping giant and there is nowhwere to run, literally.

Well the game does not always go to the stronger conference but that's the way to bet. Virginia seemed to be lulled by their 21 -7 lead.

As an aside, this was a horribly officiated game. Horrible calls went against and were missed affecting both teams. I couldn't complain about the missed calls on my side without acknowledging to the horrible calls that went against Fresno St.
