I have been on fire through the conference tournaments to the NCAA tournament with a record of 54 - 39 (58.1%) + $7,540.00 - L93 picks. It’s really been my BIG plays that have had the big impact on my season I’m now 29-7 ats in my last 6 5.5* MAX value plays. Friday was $5 Friday and you would have gotten another winner as the Blue Jays -123 crushed Twins. I’ll have a 5.5** NCAAB POD on the VCU vs. Butler game and it can be purchased from the right hand toolbar. (11) VCU Rams vs. (8) Butler Bulldogs (-2.5, 133.5)

BACKGROUND: Nobody could have predicted this match up but another Colonial Athletic Conference has shocked college basketball and made it to the Final Four. The last one was George Mason and after them was Butler last year out of the Horizon League. Butler will join them again this year after losing their best player in Hayward to the NBA Utah Jazz. VCU had to play much harder to get to this point and they beat quality team after quality team including USC in a play in game.

MORE ON BUTLER: We backed this team in back to back games in our 5.5* MAX plays and they came out victorious, but this time they are in an unfamiliar role, favorites. Butler is 27-9 and 19-3-2 against the spread. This is the first team that's not a #1 or #2 seed to reach back to back Final Fours. Their four tournament wins have come by an average of 3.3 points. They play the same disciplined basketball as a year ago behind their young coach. It's all about defense and not turning the ball over. They will have their hands full on Saturday though as VCU comes in to this game forcing nearly 15 turnovers a game and shooting 44% from the perimeter. They are not doing this against any garbage teams either more on that in a minute. The Bulldogs still have talent and that's why they got to the Final Four again. Their leadership is like no other with Matt Howard and Shelvin Mack leading the way. This team is tough to beat and certainly lives up to their mascot, a Bulldog.

MORE ON VCU What can really be said we had them vs. USC, Georgetown and Purdue and won three straight. I regret doubting them and playing Kansas big for the game and the second half but this team is the classic Cinderella that keeps proving everyone wrong despite the things they do not do well which if you look at their stats you kind of scratch your head and wonder how they got here? Ranked among the worst in field goal defense on the year as well as rebound margin this team has gotten by with true grit and effort. That is what will make for a classic match up on Saturday. I look forward to seeing Joey Rodriguez running around the court and dishing to Brandon Rozell and Jamie Skeen who are not afraid to shoot at all. There is a reason this team has gotten here and if they can make it another upset they will surpass what George Mason did and become the future of their conference. Check out my 5.5** NCAAB POD in this match up it comes with an in depth analysis. Note: I'm on a 29-7 run right now on my 5-6* plays!

(3) Connecticut Huskies vs. (4) Kentucky Wildcats (-2, 140)

BACKGROUND Kentucky is a long and athletic team led by freshmen including a very impressive Brandon Knight. We backed this team huge against North Carolina and came away with a victory. It was revenge then for Kentucky as they lost by 2 points at North Carolina and now they will have a second shot at revenge as the two met back in November when Uconn beat up on the Wildcats 84-67. Kemba Walker will look to continue leading Uconn on it's improbable run that took them to a Big East Champion with 5 games in 5 days and now to a Final Four. It will be hard to believe this would be where it ends and they are again under dogs which is where they like to be. This is a much sexier game than the two Cinderella's it's two storied programs this is Connecticut's 4th trip to the Final Four and they will look to make it to the National Championship for the 3rd time in their program's history.

WHO ARE THE WILDCATS As I mentioned before they do not have as much experience with freshmen playing pivotal roles. John Calipari though once again has a star point guard in Brandon Knight what else is new? He took over the reigns for Wall and in Memphis Cal, had Derek Rose an NBA MVP candidate and Tyreke Evans who is looking like another star. Knight can be better than the previous three if he can get Kentucky two more wins. Knight is backed by another freshmen forward in Terrence Jones who is averaging 15.9 points and 8.7 rebounds. Doron Lamb shoots 48.1% from three and is another freshmen scorer on the squad. Want some experience? You will have to go with Darius Miller who averages 11.1 points and nearly 45% from the perimeter. We have two teams that are relatively young and inexperienced so this should be a fast and exciting close match up.

WHO ARE THE HUSKIES? Dumb question I guess they are Kemba Walker right? The 9th place Huskies out of the Big East was not even one of the 8 teams that got a bye in their own conference tournament yet they are one game away from a trip to the Championship. If you haven't watched this team they are not all about Kemba although he is the biggest reason they have gotten here. Connecticut has some solid freshmen of their own in Jeremy Lamb who is a sharp shooter who plays with a lot of poise. While Napier can handle the ball and force steals alongside of Kemba. Alex Oriakhi is only a sophmore and does the dirty work he's 6-9 and has a large frame that has gotten him 8.6 rebounds per game. If you are not buying into this team yet you better start because they may shock you yet again. Get more mlb sports picks.. Freddy off to a 4-0 start!
