What's the news?? Strained hip flexor like they said yesterday??
How is he gone?? He'll be out for a day or two.
I also love the insinuations that Frank was on the juice. Wake up. The guy was huge coming out of college and he's huge now. He has been one of MLB's most outspoken critics of steriod use, years before Canseco wrote his book and Congress got involved. Like the time in spring training a year or two ago when he tried to lead the clubhouse in a boycott to force the league to adopt a steroid policy. The players union didn't look to kindly upon it.

Who insinuated that he was on the juice? I think CAPN was saying that he SHOULD HAVE gotten on the juice years ago to have a longer career.

ut seriously, this isn't going to be a day or two. He had some great years, it's time for him to hang it up before he seriously hurts himself. I suppose if he could swing and have someone immediately pinch run for him then it might work. But otherwise, he's through.

I did not insinuate Frank was on juice, farfromit, he is/was not on steroids. I was insinuating that he should have been and could have joined the homerun cavalcade with the aforementioned trio. Okay, maybe it wasnt very funny. I am sorry. I apologize to Frank, his fans and anyone else offended.

Sorry Capn I misread what you were saying.
Anyways, I think Frank will be fine. His ankle is not is that great of shape, but he's a DH and he's still faster than other 1B on the Sox whom shall go unnamed.
Anyways, I don't see how one could say that he's done. He has recovered from injury in the recent past to return to form. He doesn't have a degenerative condition so I think he'll be fine.

I saw Frank put on a display in bp at Yankee Stadium a few years back and also sign autographs for a real,REAL, long time. A great guy and a great representative for baseball. BTW , Frank got thrown out of that game, one of the few times in his career, Im guessing. Sax made two errors that night but Yanks still won. Also some kind of controversy (sp) that night with Mattingly not cutting his hair or something, got suspended I think. Sorry ,I digress. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery for Big Frank!

his big fat ass tweaked a hip flexor so he has to sit. he has 2 at bats the whole season and he's hurt? come on.

btw, ozzie hates him. he will either be traded or just let go.

Everyone hates him...the guy is a baby. I can't believe I read somewhere in this thread that he is considered a great representative for baseball. :icon_conf His own teammates can't stand him. He is one of the most selfish players in all of baseball. For any story you have heard that says something positive about Frank Thomas off the field, there are 25 that you will hear negative.

CJ: I wrote that about him being a good guy, but it was based on old info /experience. I guess he has changed since I saw him play in Yankee Stadium some 13 years ago being a 'good' guy. Mea culpa !:sad3:

I hope I didn't offend you...I was merely saying that for every good story like yours, there are many more negative stories. It is similar to if someone had a first hand negative story to tell about Kevin Garnett or Dwayne Wade...there would be 25 good stories for every 1 bad one. I feel it is the opposite for guys like Frank Thomas.

CJ: No offense taken, its just so sad these multi-millionaire players! If you or me or any average 'joe' could just sit on the bench with these guys think how happy we would be. Fly first-class or Lear type comfort, first-class hotels with meals comped per diem, all the female companion one could desire and get to play a kids' game for millions! What a life and they dont even have a clue how good they have it! Some times I feel sorry for THEM! Take care CJ, I hear you!:toast:
