May 18 (Bloomberg) -- Frank Gorshin, the actor and impressionist who played Batman's nemesis the Riddler on the 1960s television series, died yesterday at a California hospital. He was 72.

Yep, used to watch Batman at 6:30 am. Saturday mornings, religiously. The Riddler, Penguin, and the Joker I believe are all now dead.

Leykis: Where were you when you watched at 630 am Saturdays, Hong Kong? I watched Batman every week and would get really annoyed having to wait a whole week for the conclusion. I was young but I think Catwomen were my first loves. Still can see them beautiful girls with their tails hanging out. Gotta go!

Riddler

Had the pleasure of meeting him at a small dinner theatre in Hot springs Ark during the horse races over 25 years ago. Happened to be going to my car in the parking lot as he exited the rear door after his show. We began talking and one thing led to another, and he jumped in and we went downtown to another afterhours club. One of the funniest, and yet self assuming people you could ever meet. I wanted so much to ask him to do the riddler laugh, but couldn!t bring myself to ask.We went to the races the rest of the week and when my girlfriend flew in we all went out to eat. A couple of years later , he called and told me to be sure and come out west and we could all go out again.Really a nice guy, really makes me feel even older.

Frank Gorshin had a small part with Tony Curtis sitting at a Piero's type Vegas resturaunt in tonite's CSI finale that was directed by Quentin Tarrentino. He did some of his impressions. This is probably his last work and at the end of the show that had "In Memory" for him. Very quick post production.:toast:

buddy m- That was a good story. I have fond memories of watching him on Batman as I was growing up. As another poster mentioned, the three villains have now all passed away. Burgess Meredith was The Penguin. Cesar Romero was the Joker and Frank Gorshin was The Riddler.

Frank Gorshin used to appear quite often in The Union Plaza showroom. I had always wanted to go but didn't get to see his show. He was quite a character. Rest in peace Riddler.
