I dont mind a normal Motel 6 every once in a while, but after doing a little more research, the Motel 6 on Fowler seems a bit too seedy for my taste.

Since Im splitting the cost down the middle with my buddy, it only cost me an extra $75 to stay on the beach in Clearwater. $175 per night at the Quality Hotel on the Beach. The address is 655 S. Gulfview Blvd. Went to tripadvisor.com and just about everyone gave the place great reviews.

Any of you Tampa guys know of any cool bars or places to hang out near this hotel?

i know this hotel. there are some local bars down the beach that will be worth checking out since you're down there.

Try Cooters for dinner. Sheppards is a club type atmosphere. will have a DJ in one part and live band in another section. Frenchy's is bar restaurant right on beach. Many spots, just walk around.

me and the legend, FISHHEAD, used to frequent every bar down on the beach. i can't even remember some of their names. maybe he'll chime in with his favorites. would imagine it to be quite lively down there with the superbowl goin on and quite a few hotels there.

I did not. I really doubt they have a "true" lottery. Every guy I talked to that won the lottery had club season tickets. Its rigged.

I have had season tickets for 6 seasons. I sit upstairs though in the corner of the endzone. The dude I bought my Super Bowl tickets from won the "lottery" and he only had season tix for 2 seasons, but they were club seats.

I think they make sure to take care of the people with the most money. Not a surprise.

Nice job. You gave me the creeps when you said Motel 6 in Tampa. I was like man how is going to go to the superbowl and be in Tampa the party city that it is and stay at that crummy hotel?! He won't even get a good night sleep.

Kudos. Glad to hear this.

And you are right about staying in Motel 6 once in a while
in certain parts of the U.S. is not so bad, this isnt the place though.

Nobody really spoke up against it. Everybody that chimed in said both spots were in decent locations.

Then I went to tripadvisor.com and read the horror stories. No thanks.

SouthBeach Sports Grill has a decent presentation, including outside seating. It's on the far south end of Clearwater Beach, two blocks east of the main street (there's basically two streets that run north/south - but BEFORE you hit the Sand Key Bridge which would take you further south into Bellair Bluffs

Also have live music on Fri/Sat featuring a couple of friends of mine

Cristi is the singer and Ron is the guitar player of what is usually a four headed band

I find most Motel 6's have thin walls and sometimes they are seedy like you say. So I used to go to Super 8 and they were ok but the doors used to bang shut.

I think it's worth it to pay a little more at a Comfort Inn or Quality Inn. It's worth it for the quiet. That's just been my experience.

Wildcat, if your still into that, just give me another PM. We can start off with drinks and see if your wife feels comfortable and then we can take it form there. I just dont want you to get your hopes up again.

I will look for it. And if I find it, I will stop in, have a drink, and tell them Fishhead sent me.

Ill let you know when I get back what type of response I receive.

Only consider if your 100% homosexual...........

I made the mistake of accidently walking in there one day and will never be back. Yes, I'm straight.
