In response to our Stop Supporting The O’Reilly Harassment Machine campaign, UPS told us yesterday that it was investigating whether to continue supporting O’Reilly’s show. “We are sensitive to the type of television programming where our messages and presence are associated and continually review choices to affect future decisions,” spokeswoman Susan Rosenberg told us.
Today UPS announced it will stop advertising on O’Reilly’s show. Here is the statement UPS emailed out just moments ago:
Thank you for sending an e-mail expressing concern about UPS advertising during the Bill O’Reilly show on FOX News. We do consider such comments as we review ad placement decisions which involve a variety of news, entertainment and sports programming. At this time, we have no plans to continue advertising during this show.
Here’s a graphic of the email statement we received:

</center> Thank you UPS! We need more corporate sponsors of O’Reilly to follow UPS’s lead. Let’s keep up the pressure. Please sign onto our campaign and tell your friends to do so as well:

should be fun watching him tonight. he's an idiot, but he's an entertaining idiot.

LOL, I'm sure someone else will jump right in their spot.

No problems on liberal stations though, I'm sure.

FOXnews dominates the cable news ratings - but in actual reach and ratings, you're bragging about being the tallest building in Des Moines.

What a bunch of crap. This bitch wrote something false about O'Reilly, and that incited a demonstration at a fund raiser at which he was speaking on behalf of rape victims. It humiliated and caused alot of anguish for the sponsor, who was a rape victim herself, and her family. The producers were merely giving her a chance to explain herself - which she couldn't. She couldn't even remember exactly what O'Reilly supposedly said that was so egregious. Not even close to the kind of thing 60 Minutes does.

Hey, I'm not a huge O'Reilly fan, but this is pure crap.

Most watched CABLE news show.

The most watched nighttime news show has 8+ million viewers and it's NBC. Next is ABC...next is CBS (with Katie Couric...and in 3rd place she gets aprox double of what O'Reilly gets)

FOXnews dominates the cable news ratings - but in actual reach and ratings, you're bragging about being the tallest building in Des Moines.

Care to give us a link?

I saw the footage of Amada Terkel being harassed on her vacation and it was kind of disturbing to me. It wasn't like the paparazzi was after her; it was just the blow hard O'reilly force in full factor.

UPS advertises during a lot of big programs, no need to be in the mix with some wierdo stalkers.

What did she ("the bitch") write that was false? Did you see the ambush interview? If you did, what did she write that attacked the Alexa Foundation? Did you even read her original blog? It's real small, why not take a look and then tell us what was in it that was so false.

There is nothing in O'Reilly's statements that even implies it was Ms. Moore's "fault" that she was raped. You have to be a moron if you even infer that.

He certainly doesn't need me to speak up for him, but what he was obviously saying was DON'T PUT YOURSELF IN A SITUATION WHERE BAD THINGS MIGHT HAPPEN. Which Ms. Moore did. Pretty sound advice if you ask me - or any rational person.

How come all the losers in life with time to protest something belong to one party?

I'm a victim, that's why I'm a proud Democrat.

Funny you should say that because yesterday, right in the middle of suburban San Ramon, were a group of people protesting Obama's stimulus plan. Not disruptive (the couple I flipped off returned a thank you) but complete with the chants and the signs.

your a loser if its something they don't agree with, then they go back and do the same thing because it's something they agree with.

i cant argue with it though, because both sides do it.

On top of these comments which to many imply that the victim was partially to blame, in the the recent past O'Reilly has

- Settled a sexual harrasment suit out of court (only settling when audio tapes were presented at discovery. Prior to that he told O'Reilly listeners he was innocent and would fight all the way)
- Inferred that a young male rape and kidnapping victim may have enjoyed it.

Yet, no where in that blog does she criticize this Alexa Foundation. So I'll ask again. Did you see the piece where the blogger was followed, confronted and asked to explain something she didn't even write?

This Merkel "bitch" reports something originally posted at another site (newshounds) and this justifies tracking her across state lines and confronting her in an agressive manner (and asking her to apologize to a rape victim foundation for saying something she didn't even say?)

You really think O'Reilly is right here? He's done a lot of good for child victims and spearheaded a lot of child protection movements.

But you honestly can't see the problem or irony with essentially stalking a woman on her holiday and confronting her to answer for things she didn't even write?

What are you talking about? She most certainly did write that O'Reilly implied that it was the victim's fault. It's right there on her blog. Which he did nothing of the kind.

OK, so O'Reilly has some sexual "idiosyncracies", maybe even perversities. So do alot of people. That has nothing to do with his job as a commentator or interviewer. As for the second inference (on your part) about the male rape victim, I'd have to see the context before I commented. I'm sure there's more to it than you're presenting.

And as for "stalking" Ms. Terkal, I don't consider it stalking when a reporter wants to ask someone to answer a few questions about what he or she has written or said on a public forum, like she did. I guess you think Samantha Roberts was stalking A-Rod, too.

O'Reilly goes WAY over the top sometimes. He makes no differentiation between male statutory rape victims and female statutory rape victims. (There IS a BIG difference.) And he has an occasional tendency to shout down his opponents and then declare victory (e.g., the Barney Frank interview). But this time isn't one of them.
