Anybody know any good football newsletters for this upcoming season? I am interested in an online or mail newsletter that provides game writeups on a lot of games and stats. Picks aren't that important.

I currently subscribe to Powersweep and Gold sheet which I recommend for the info, not really the picks. I have used Tom stryker's, Steamsheet and Playbook but don't like them as much.

Thanks in advance.......MMA

Power Sweep and Gold Sheet are two of the best on the market for information only. Nationwide Sports which is the publisher of the Gold Sheet also offers the Condidential Kick-Off as well as the Gold Sheet Extra both providing additional information and technical angles. They also offer a Friday update, which is of more current value and is e-mailed via a pdf file directly to your computer. Northcoast which publishes Power Sweep also offers Power Plays which is brief in nature and projects the final yardage and score based on their own set of Power Ratings. All of these should be used for information to gain more knowledge but not play their recommendations blindly as these newsletters are published on Sunday night, a week in advance of the games, and many variables occur throughout the week.

Old man, yes I get the Extra and the Fri update but don't think the Confidential offers much.

Like I said in my post, I don't use the plays. I just like to read the writeups, stats, etc Saves me time.

Thanks to all so far...drunk..I'll email u

Powersweep

Gold Sheet

PLAYBOOK by Marc Lawerence

ps- I would'nt necessarily buy these publications for their selections, but more so for the information they pack so that you can make your own selections.

The GOLD SHEET for example has a reputation for be notoriously bad on their selections, but you will find a TON of useful information in their weekly pocket guide..............so much, that I cannot imagine most serious sports gambler being without it.

I love the gold sheet. I don't pay much attention to the picks but I do like their breakdowns of match ups.

We here at SGPN will be offering 2 versions of the "Sports Service News", one online and the other in print.

The difference is the material in both, as one will be mainly for best bet picks (newsstands), the other with info on games that is useful, but only available later in the week.

Uncle Fish, you and Ted hit the newsletters on the HEAD! If you wager at least a hundred on your games, you owe it to yourself to at least get the Gold Sheet Triple Play. I would not leave home without it. Gosh, I think that I can finally smell some college football! LT

Fish--yes, in my post I said I get the Gold Sheet w/the Extra and Fri Update, and the Powersweep--all for info not the picks I like to make my own picks. And I have gotten the Playbook before but it's not as good.

Vegasguy: What is SGPN? Could you elaborate?
