Gotta stick with the Lightning to hold serve I am going to lay the 1.5 +198 (Pinn.) and look for a similar 3 or 4 to 1 final. Flyers 2-4 in six roadgames this playoff (6-0 home). Lightning 9-1 overall with only 10 goals allowed. The Wall rocks.

I agree. Home teams have done well in game 2's this year and TB really didn't play that well in game 1 after the layoff. They should play better and win again.

No ratings for the dopey TV types. But for the Hockey people having this years 2 best players St Louis and Iginla going at it would be great.

NJ - good point - two exicting offensive players. Really there are no very public hockey teams in the US anyway. Canada is another story, Toronto in the finals would have had that country going crazy. Well maybe they will get a shot with the country cousins from Calgary.

All I heard pre-series was how the FLYERS were going to physically beat up the Lightning.

Well, stick this in your ear!!!!

5-7 STLOUIS decking 6-5 Flyers captain Keith Primeau!!

flyers will even up the series at 1-1 tonight. NO way the flyers go down 0-2. They are too strong for the Bolts. After tonight, we will be favored to win the series when we regain home ice advantage. Flyers will be -135/+115 for the series when we win tonight.

And if we lose tonight, I still won't be nervous as they would still be going back home for 3 of the next 5, where they are tough to beat, AND we still have to lose 2 more, if we happen to lose tonight, but don't hold your breath for that BOLTS fans..

Maybe when/if the Flyers finally win one against the highly underrated Bolts, they will play with a little more confidence and the series could possibly go six or seven games.

Right now, they havent proven they can beat this team.........0-5 on the year now.

There is MUCH more to this Bolts team than STLOUIS and THE WALL.

This team had MULTIPLE 20 goal scorers during the regualar season.

Brad Richards and Lacavalier are both maturing into bonafide superstars in this league.

I have posted some thoughts in the NHL forum under VIC's Thread...

Wil, thanks for asking the other day...I have been fine...simply abiding by my new 'NO POSTING OR GAMBLING SITES AT WORK' rule as it was affecting my sales....I am in sales so I live by commission & I figured the time I was spending on sites was costing me large $$$$ in lost sales...so I will only log in at lunch or when I am off work...Also dont have a wireless laptop yet so it is hard to get online at night as I am spending alot of time with my fiancee....still playing, doing OK...Ho Hum....

I NEED TO GET A LAPTOP SO I CAN HAVE MY PC WITH ME IN THE LIVING ROOM!!!

SS - Thanks for the reply. Glad you are well. GL tonight. wil.

BRANDON, Fla. (AP) Soon after the Philadelphia Flyers arrived at a practice rink Sunday, some of the players turned around and headed back to the hotel for rest and relaxation under the sun.

Down 1-0 to Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference finals, the Flyers didn't spend their day off working on a new way to beat the Lightning, who have won five straight meetings, including all four in the regular season. Instead, coach Ken Hitchcock made a last-minute decision to make practice optional.

Flyers captain Keith Primeau and forward Jeremy Roenick were among the players who decided not to skate once they learned they didn't have to.

''We understand the circumstances,'' Primeau said. ''We're a resilient team. We've faced adversity and responded all season.''

Encouraged by his team's performance in a 3-1 series-opening loss Saturday, Hitchcock felt time away from the ice would benefit the players more.

The Flyers executed their game plan against the Lightning, but lost because they made too many miscues in their own zone and only scored one goal.

''We played strong, but we made mistakes we have to correct,'' Roenick said.

Philadelphia shut down the Lightning's main weapons, holding Vinny Lecavalier to no shots, NHL scoring champion Martin St. Louis and Brad Richards to one each and Fredrik Modin to two.

The Flyers clogged up the center of the ice, and didn't allow Tampa Bay to use its speed to get shots off the rush.

''In terms of what we do system-wise and how we're going to play, we're going to play the same way, but we've got to do some things a lot better,'' forward Mark Recchi said.

Hitchcock said he'll probably make changes on some of the lines for Game 2 Monday night. The Flyers want to put more pressure on goalie Nikolai Khabibulin. They took 20 shots in the opener, but few were quality scoring opportunities.

''I don't think we tested him enough to even be intimidated by how well he's been playing,'' forward John LeClair said. ''Each game is different. Each team has different styles and different approaches to a game, and I don't think we tested him as well as we would have liked.''

Though losing the first two games wouldn't be a disaster, the Flyers realize the importance of gaining a split. They'd eventually have to win at least one game in Tampa to win the series.

''We're going to approach it like a must-win,'' Primeau said. ''You don't want to go home down 0-2.''

A little confident are we Barman? How many of those 4 regular season games did Esche play? TB is the better team but Philly should come out strong tonight. They are a veteran team and know what needs to be done to steal one at TB.
