San Diego with 28 at the half!!!

Why was Flutie overlooked is the question that will be on the minds over Bolts fans everywhere???

Flutie is usually good for a 5-6 game run in the middle of any given season...

Classic case of the little guy getting screwed again! This guy at 40, is better than half the Qb's in the league.

Good point journeyman. If one intelligently looks over the years, you will find that he never got the respect he deserved. He rode pine with most of his teams, and they gave him a shot when it was too late. if they had faith in him at the outset, his career would have been better than it already is.

He is the greatest QB in the history of the CFL . . . . and before anyone posts a smart ass comment about the CFL, remember that Warren Moon played 5 years with the Edmonton Eskimos.

I live in San Diego. Essentially what happened here is that Marty strode into town and decided to put his stamp on the team for some "Martyball". He ripped the heart and soul of the team away by trading away Seau and Harrison. In starting Brees in front of Flutie... he took any and all entertainment value away from watching this miserable team.

Brees would have done well to watch Flutie play and not vice versa. I don't have anything against Brees, he's just a kid learning the ropes... but what fool leaves Flutie on the bench this long. This guy just does not ever get any respect.

I live in San Diego also. Doug Flutie can suck the sh*t out of a dead babys ass. I can't stand that arrogant midget bastard.

Big deal he is having ONE decent game ...

It never ceases to amaze me how the army of Flutie lovers get a "warm fuzzy" when they see there elf hero have a good day.

He can take a team only so far with his dull game...The plan WAS to have Flutie than hand the team over to Brees 'someday'!?!?

Why did they ever let the heart of their DEFENSE in SEAU go?

KISS-That was rather funny but not all true...Flutie is not all bad, I think he can spark a team for 5-6 games, he was given the job in Buffalo and it wasn`t all great. But at the same time he has lit up the scoreboard for several games at a time... I think its hard to build a team around him, especially now, but why Marty waited this long? This team has stunk from the get go...Marty must go! 3 yards and a cloud of dust days are over!

Tell a fifty year old who's been watching Charger Football forever all about life ...

I hope someone breaks the little shits leg. He is NOT the Charger future. I'd put a bullet in my head before I'd ever cheer for that trouble making piece of poop.

Enough about Dougie .... I'm ready to barf.

A few questions KISS..

Has Brees put up 42 points?

Why is Flutie a trouble maker?

Is Flutie hated by all of San Diego or is this just personal? Didn`t mean to make you sick?!

So Kiss1, you actually think that brees should still be the starter? You have got to be kidding. You may not be a Flutie fan, but saying brees should still be in there? C'mon.

Kiss..

I didn't crawl out of the wordwork cause Flutie had a good game. I voiced an opinion becasue Marty has ruined the team. Flutie IS THE BETTER QB. It's the least Marty can do for San Diego to give us some entertainment (win some damn games) after tearing the team apart in the off-season and starting off 1-7.

Logistically, this isn't good timing for Brees development, but damn, he shoulda been behind Flutie from the start. Brees needs to suck it up and take some notes, be a man about it. Marty F'd up the logistics of his development and sitting him isn't gonna be the end of his career.

At 1-7 (2-7) with no entertainment to speak of on this team, Flutie should be in there. What's you beef with him anyway.

i always liked flutie until i saw him on t.v. at a hillary clinton campaign rally when she was running to win new york,he was holding her hand up in the air and trying to rally the crowd,in one quick moment i went from respecting him to hoping he dropped dead

So Cal

I respectfully disagree. The Chargers are going nowhere this year with Flutie. Every kid has to pay his dues and this was Drews year to learn "on the job." This is a young team that needs to grow together. Flutie showed his true selfish colors in Buffalo. He was a cancer there and will be one in San Diego until he retires. People seem to forget that with Doug as the starter the Chargers sucked. Today was just ONE game unfortunatly it was a step in the WRONG direction .... LONG TERM.

I edited my post above (just clarifying my thought) before reading your response. but it still translates I think.

I've heard that Flutie was a pain in the ass in Buffalo, but I don't know it to be fact or fiction. He hasn't ruffled anyone's feathers in SD from everything I know. 5 mil to ride the bench. Not a peep.

anyway. as far as the future. it would have been better to have brees watch a veteran starting last season and ease him into the job this year. that's all F'd up. but brees can still learn a thing or two if he just nuts it up.

I have heard that he is a wondeful guy. He was well liked in Buffalo, and I find it hard to believe that he is a bad person. I could be wrong, but I have to believe that he is good people.
