Assuming UF gets their revenge from last year and beats UGA in the WLOCP, they're in for sure from the East. Alabama will most likely make it from the West even with 1 conference loss, as LSU will most likely finish with 2 conference losses in the West.

If UF faces an undefeated Alabama (ideally) in the SEC CCG and wins, UF will make the NC game, period. UF should still make the NC game even if Alabama comes into the SEC CCG with 1 loss, but in that case, they'll need to beat Bama comfortably.

UF is in the best position by far of any 1 loss team currently.

But USC lost to a good team. Please! Who in the Pac-crap would finish in the top 5 of the Big12 or SEC?

Did you read the original post and the argument made?

While I agree that LSU is vastly overrated this year, if UF makes the SEC CCG (which they will if they beat UGA) and THEN beat an undefeated Alabama or 1 loss Alabama in the SEC CCG, UF will get the nod with a much stronger SOS and more quality wins than USC.

Careful though, if PSU runs the table and Texas wins the Big-12 CCG with 1 loss total, a 1 loss UT would get the nod over a 1 loss UF. To feel safe, UF needs to hope that either PSU loses or Texas finishes with 2 losses.

The way "things" are unfolding this year, a play-off would be the only way to determine who the real Natonal Champs are.

Of course, it's not going to happen this year or for the forseeable future. Those "bowl" games are too sacred.

Where does an undefeated Utah or BYU fit in? The way the Mt West owned the Pac-crap, they will want a piece.

And that would be a crime....Florida lost to Ole-Friggin-Miss......that would be like Texas losing to Baylor....or Ohio St losing to Iowa....or USC losing to Oregon St...(oh wait...lol)

They really don't. BYU needs to run the table and hope that the next best teams have at least 2 losses, otherwise they'll have to settle for a regular BCS game. The computers will hate BYU.

bump

Incredibly deceiving score today, as Bulldogs actually outgained Gators, but whatever. Florida was in the perfect spot for this game with revenge and practically 2 weeks off to prepare and Georgia just kept killing themselves, oh well. No one was surprised by this result.

Now, will Florida be a favorite in the SEC CCG over Alabama?

Ole Miss will end up making a bowl game this year, and they have arguably the best DL in the league this year. They could also win out and end up 8-4. That doesnt look so bad. Yeah they lost to OM, but would they lose to OM today? Does their improvement count for nothing? This is why a playoff is needed.

Also, watch out for UF to let down a little next week vs Vandy. The last year was all about TODAY and Vandy is slipping some. If the line is in the 30's which wouldn't surprise me, then I will look to play Vandy.

Just something to look at with that match up...UF is very good at stopping big backs. See the LSU game.
