They should have this covered midway into the second quarter. FSU a little underrated this year, looking to prove something. Against tougher teams, they are only going to be able to prove so much. Against North Carolina they should roll. NC 3-9 last year and 4-8 ATS and not looking any better this year.

FSU has 10 defensive starters back and Rix and Greg Jones to lead the offense. They lost a lot of receivers ( should be easily replacable with guys like Craphonso Thorpe) and lots of offensive linemen. Which is the teams only, albeit big, question mark.

Rix takes a lot of flak, Realistically, ( he's a redshirt junior ) this should be his first year as an FSU starter. As it is, he has 2 years starting experience and has looked good, overall. Look for a good and maybe very good year from him.

Last year NC made the putrid Adrian McPherson look good, the only game where he did, although FSU did not cover the -31. I guess AD shaved a few. FSU could have covered, but the game was dreadfully boring.

Rix will shred this team. If FSU plays poorly for some stretches of the game, they can still win by 17 and cover. They should win by a comfortable margin over the spread.

If I'm wrong, throw some tomatoes at me after the game.

They're definitely looking better this year. For one thing, their QB is not injured. And their defensive front 7 is not devastated by injuries. They're not better than FSU, but they're sure as hell not as bad as they were last year when they played FSU.

And, yes, I believe FSU shaved points in last year's game -- very costly for me (though not as costly as the point-shaving in the FSU-UVA game). But I won't be on the Seminoles this year. Things are not right with that program.
