Being in law enforcement for 28 years, here's what I tell people..In a nut shell if your afraid of blood don't become an ER doctor or nurse, if your afraid to run into a burning building don't become a fireman, and if your afraid to get hurt, or your a pussy, don't be a cop......

This is really, really stupid. Kaeperidick? Police are murdering unarmed black men, often, and the decision is to piss on the guy protesting this? I suspect this bar owner is either racist, or has really warped priorities. If it were the 60s I am sure he would be pissing on MLK, or another civil rights activist. And, as we know, those Civil Rights activists were on the right side of history. And so is Kaepernick. The fact that his protest has sparked a season-long discussion by athletes on systemic racism is a very good thing and the QB should be praised.

ouch, comparing this pussy whipped chump to mlk? you reaching..the police, keep us safe, and while there are some dicks, and some who make irrational decisions in the blink of an eye that most couldn t stomach ( you know, like for instance, shooting a guy holding a gun after numerous demands to drop, o wait it was a book, ha ha...or some 300 pound maniac trying to beat the tar out of an honest cop who feared for his life) i side with the police over the absolute scum of the earth, today, tomorrow and next weds..every..single time..

one side serves an absolute service to society where as the other church going, god fearing family men, with rap sheets longer than my dick contribute zero to our country

I think that most people get Kappernick's intensions, but the forum he choose was a poor choice, especially around or on Sept. 11th. What atlanta and New Orleans did was a thousand time more respectful and meaningful.

If what he did was so disrespectful why did no one notice till the 3rd preseason game.

Also why is kneeling a sign of disrespect if someone drops to there knee in front of you you take that as a sign of disrespect?

People are butt hurt about his comments which he only gave when he was asked about it.

OK well this thread is digusting and probably belongs in the political forum anyway. I regret getting involved because you aren't making a real argument. All of those insults you hurl -- that is a logical fallacy called ad hominem. That "300 pound maniac reference," and "rap sheets longer than my dick who contribute nothing," is another logical fallacy: faulty generalizations. Almost every sentence you type is a textbook case of numerous logical fallacies. A teacher of Critical Thinking 101 could use your comment to teach kids exactly now not to structure an argument.

My suggestion is that you read something like this (Master List of Logical Fallacies) before you make any more comments so your discussion don't always devolve into a pissing contest. You can't have a real conversation with someone who argues like you, because you will just respond with more fallacies (strawmen, irrelevant objection, appeal to authority etc...)

Ok I am done. Call me a pussy, pc fuck who probably lives in his mother's basement or something. I am sure it will be extremely effective and persuasive.

I disagree with whom you choose to side with.

I think, for the most part the police, given the absolute un real stress and total lack of respect authority shown, do a pretty damn fair job.

Enjoy PSCH 101. I loved the chapter on Skinner.

But, that protest -- and all of the other ones -- would not have happened if Kaepernick didn't start this. The first guy who jumps in always loses a little skin. And if he didn't do something that will grab attention to the issue we wouldn't be having a very serious discussion about systemic racism (at least not in the context of the NFL). I understand why some find it untoward, but it is a flag -- a symbol of importance but not a beating heart. Protests aren't effective unless they are somewhat controversial. I understand that some associate his action as a slap in the face to the country, but that is how they choose to perceive it.

Also, as a white person, I have a hard time telling black people what kind of protests are appropriate. I am unlikely to be killed by a cop and i recognize that I was born into some privilege. I can't even imagine what it is like to be black in America -- not 200 hundred years removed from slavery, 60 years from segregation, and now all these shootings....who I am to say that they are taking a protest too far? This isn't to slap law enforcement up. I don't want to be guilty of generalizations. I am sure most cops are not indifferent to the lives of black people. But I don't know how one can look at all of these instances and assume it isn't a serious problem rooted in systemic racism. And it needs to stop.

Remember, you are more likely to be shot by a cop than a black. You are also more likely to be eaten by a shark.

Tread lightly my friend. :)

Kapernick should be fired because he is being disruptive in the workplace and bringing moral down amongst his fellow employees and If he wants to protest then he should do it on his own time.
