I don't know if it is a scam, I was once playing with a guy at Ultimate that kept calling my hole cards before I turned them over--it went on for like 3 hands. It was spooky. When I demanded he tell me how he knew, he asked for me e-mail address. I gave it to him, but he never sent anything. I prompty left the table. Either he was really, really lucky, or had some way to see my cards.

I haven't played at Ultimate since then.

Yeah, but that guy just sounded lucky. Even if he saw your hole cards, that wouldnt have helped him get his set or his inside straight or whatever. What you want to watch for is a guy that keeps raising you when you are bluffing, or in my case, admitting he knew what I was holding.

A note back from Intertops

Thank you for contacting us.

With reference to the program "cheat-at-poker" being referred to in
your
e-mail, please note that we are aware of this supposed application and
others that make similar claims. They are all of course, actually a
scam.

Whilst we are in no way complacent about these programs and regularly
check
them out in order to allay our customer's fears, there is in fact, no
way
that you can see other players hole cards, or community cards, before
they
are dealt.

The IntertopsPoker.com system uses 128-bit encryption certified by
THAWTE to
connect to each playerýs system; it is state-of-the-art and one of the
safest systems online, as it sits behind one of the most advanced
firewalls
in the world. We work with the best security advisers in the world to
constantly upgrade the systems to protect your data and ours.

The 128-bit encrypted messages are 309,485,009,821,345,068,724,781,056
times
harder to break than 40-bit messages. Thus, it would take the same
technology used to crack the RSA 40-bit message 1 trillion x 1 trillion
years to crack a 128-bit message. That's several trillion times longer
than
the age of the Earth.

I hope this puts your mind at rest regarding this and similar
applications;
we look forward to seeing you at the tables soon.

Contact us anytime; we are available around the clock to assist you
with any
other related questions and suggestions.

for what its worth

128-bit encryption keys are (as stated) very secure

HOWEVER the best encryption system of the world won't do squat if all the other aspects are not taken care of.

Example, you can have a state of the art, ultra superdooper alarm installed at your house.

What good is it if I cut the power and there is no battery backup? At that point the alarm was NOT defeated, it was simply not implemented as it should have.

All systems are only safe as long as its properly implemented.

Just keeping things in perspective there is no such a thing as "impossible"

However I am typically more concerned with whats "likely/possible to occur" and that is.......that the other players are better at poker than me :sad3:
