I know March Madness starts this week. However, on Saturday night there is an excellent fight card on PPV (if you don't want to pay go to a bar or something). Erik Morales-Manny Pacquiao. It's pretty much a guaranteed can't miss fight. Pacquiao is quick as hell and has a outstanding left hand. He has great stamina and workrate as well. His downside would be he bases to much of his offense around his thunderous left hand and his chin is questionable. Erik Morales on the other hand is a very skilled Mexican who can't stay out of wars. Every time he gets hit he wants to return the favor. He has a much better punch variety than Pacquiao and is bigger but is slower. Anyways, it has all the makings of a great fight. If you have a chance to see it watch it, should be a good fight.

Val - can you suggest any websites that are devoted to the boxing world? After watching the contender I must say it is a sport that I would pay more attention to if there was more coverage.

It really is an amazing thing to watch.

Yeah boxrec is the best website for results and has a decent forum. There are some other decent forums as well. Maxboxing and fightworld.us are pretty good forums. Another good site for the news is fightnews.com

Should be a great fight. I know a guy who works on the Pacquiao team and we have been playing phone tag for about a week. If I get through to him today, I will relay any info he might share.

Erik is the better boxer of the two. They both have punching power, but Pacmans has been reduced with weight jump. Erik, much more experienced with many more big fights. I like the underdog here. Sorry The SHRINK, unless Pacman can KO Erik early, this one could be scary, and no Old Dominion to fallback on. I predict an upset.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:

I have heard something about tons of $$$ on Pacquiao from supposed sharps. I don't consider it very sharp money though. :finger:

It really perplexes me how people are ignoring Morales's chance. This is Manny's first fight at 130. Morales is much bigger, has a better chin and is more skilled. Manny is quicker and hits a little harder. Still Morales has a bigger variety of punches, all he has to watch out for is Manny's left hand.

He just does not have the power he did at lighter weights, not even close. He is a weak fundamental boxer, wings too many outside punches. His chin is not suspect. I think he is in over his head, unless Erik became washed up overnight. Sometimes money flows from odd sources, not sharps. Unless this is a fuzzy, I think Erik is the better fighter in many areas. If it goes to decision, and the judges are straight, a huge if, Pacman just is not a scorecard winner. I will order it and see I guess.

Awful lot of action everywhere on Pacman. Most boxing insiders say pick, some too close to call. Judges and ref all long term, great reps. Somebody knows something for this thing to jump this high. I am wondering what?

Best Wishes...:howdy:

Ridiculous. No way Morales should be +170, not that I mind :dancefoolI don't care who's on the other side. +170 is way to high.
