Field surface info, where to find and does it matter?

I'm trying to look at field surfaces, thinking that there is an advantage for teams to play on similar surfaces as their home. For example, Colorado State will have an advantage at SF over BC since BC plays on Turf (or at least I think they do).

The game I'm really interested in is Wisky/Aub. Anyone know where I can find such info? Or if it even matters?

GoUH , Auburn plays on grass, BC plays on artificial turf, and Wisconsin plays on artificial turf.

Also, all of those games played by Auburn this year were on grass. For BC , 10 games were on artificial turf, and only 2 were on grass. The grass games were at Penn St. where they won 30-23, in that one Wisc. had 395 tot yard w/ 255 yards rushing. At Northwestern where they lost 7-16, Wisc had 328 tot yards w/ 158 yards rushing. But in the lost at NW, they were without QB Sorgi and RB Evans was hurt in the 1st Q and only carried 5times. The backup QB in this game had the most yards rushing with 65.

I hope this helps you out. Aloha CC.

Btw I got the field info from the 2003 College Football Preview by Phil Steele. Cost $7.95, but he sent it to me for free, because I once used his service awhile ago.
