why won`t the iraqi`s let the red cross in to see the p.o.w.`s?.........and why isn`t our media pounding this point home in their reports back to the states?......you`d think that with the p.o.w.`s families sitting on pins and needles worrying about their sons, daughters, husbands and wives, our media would make a point of pushing this issue.... ..i`m curious to get takes from both sides of the aisle......thanks

Sadly, I hope I'm wrong, they have been murdered.

why isn`t our media pounding this point home in their reports back to the states?

Do you think that the pentagon wants this?

In my opinion, if the media were to put more emphasis on this topic the more we would see the disappearance of the idea that this war is a sanitary and perfect one. People would be less likely to support this war.
Discussing the case and state of our pows has the same effect as images of american pows and dead. This would cause a breakdown in the prowar numbers...

point taken radio....but by the same token, wouldn`t it behoove the iraqi cause to allow the red cross in to see that the prisoners are treated humanely?...therefore partially debunking some of the rhetoric about the assasination of prisoners, beatings, rape and torture....and making our claims look unfounded?

i think i`ve only heard of about 7 to 10..and i think 4 were originally shown on iraqi t.v....i wouldn`t think the small number would lessen the urgency to make sure they are being treated appropriately...but,go ahead, eek,i appreciate your opinion...

Yup.
The only contention so far is that the US has been segregating certain individuals for a possible holiday in Guantanamo for a couple of years.

i`m pretty sure....i`ll check that out before i comment.....would be pretty foolish of the coalition to be bitching about the geneva convention and then be violating one of the tenets in such a blatant way....and let me say, before i get hamstrung by guantonamo, that i honestly am not up to snuff on the situation of the alleged terrorists ....i am trying to understand this p.o.w. thing from the coalition and iraqi standpoints....something doesn`t add up....

guys....don`t you think it would be smart for the iraqi`s to let the red cross in...trying to stay on point here...thanks
