Maybe its me, but does the 3 point circle in CBB seem to close? I beleive it is 19'9" from the basket. A lot has been debated about this, imo. it is to close, and changes the game into an outside shooting contest to easily.

Totally agree. It is way too close.

21 feet would work for me.

a 16-18 foot jump shot is now a bad shot since you should step back one stride. Makes no sense.

It should be atleast 21 ft...And its even closer when your on a court, I mean this is a can of corn for anyone who can play... There is no medium range jumper anymore....players need to get back to fundamentals (bank shots, pick and roll, bounce passing) its ugly! I wouldn`t be disappointed if they did away with the 3 pointer altogether...

The short 3 pt line is one of the reasons I rarely watch college bb anymore. It's a joke.

I used to think it was too, but I have changed my mind. The shorter three point distance makes it imperative that teams play a much more spread out defense. This in turn opens things up in the middle for easier penetration, thus making games much more interesting. Teams with the biggest players no longer have such huge advantages. The best thing about it, though, is that it makes late game comebacks much easier. Teams don't have to foul and shoot desparation 25 footers to come back like in the NBA. Comebacks in college are far more common because of it, and consequently the games are much more interesting down the stretch.

The 3 point shot option is a joke IMO. Takes away from the good ol' school of basketball fundamentals. To many hotdogs out there. To many teams live and die by it.

rediculous half the power forwards in the nation will attempt one of these almost every game. it congests everything. in the 80's, the distance was fine. but these kids are much bigger now and every kid grows up practicing this shot. it should be nba range. and i know this sounds crazy but you dont see 8 yards for a first down in NCAAF so why should a 3 be shorter just becuase its college?!

I'll admit, it isn't a very hard shot. Does it make any sense that kids in 7th grade are shooting from the same 3-point line as college players?

However, I like it. It makes the game exciting. Even if a team is down double-digits with under 5 minutes, they can hit some 3-pointers to keep it close. Plus, it allows the smaller schools to compete with Duke, Kentucky, etc. The small schools can't recruit a 6'11" power forward. But the small schools can recruit a scrappy 6'2" guard who can shoot.

NBA line would be WAY too far. For many college players, it would be the difference between shooting a 3-pointer and heaving a 3-pointer.

Most NBA players are lucky to shoot 30% from the 3-point line. What do you think college players would shoot?

As I said, I like the current college line. But I'd be willing to consider the international line.

no way! look closer into the NBA stats. there are 21 guys who shoot it 40% or better with a minimal of 20 makes. this thing has become a chip shot for these guys becuase they are all physically stronger and began practicing the thing before they were 12. okefur could probably go 3-8 shooting 3's. for the nations leaders in college for MADE 3's the top 25 for MADE 3's all shoot it 35% or better and most of them are over 40%. the kid from pennsylvania hads 83 makes shooting it at .456 this is better than some guys FT % ! give me a break!

I would love college basketball again if they eliminated the three point shot AND the shot clock.

I am VERY old school...........and also realize I am in the VERY small minority, so keep your wise cracks to yourselves.
