FANTASTIC FOUR - box office

Fantastic 4 was one of my favorite comic books when I was a kid.

I'm thinking it's going to hit somewhere around the 45 million mark.

Looking forward to the lines.

Yeah me three .... one of the few I might go to see at the theatre ... last was "Ghost Of The Abyss" in IMAX 3-D .... about the Titanic...un real footage.

My only problem with betting the over is that there is a lot of competition out there:

3-D Hey There...Could you give us the link to the place that gets these box-office results....I think its cool you post these opportunities - I would just like to learn a bit more.

For the record...I think Tom Cruise's PR people must have been let go ... or he has lost his mind. Not about the girl stuff but just the public image crap .... you got have your mind right before you speak to the masses .... I bet Will Smith is having a laugh.

But I'm as dumb as the rest...G

I think Fantastic will generate 29 - 34 million as I agree with competition being a major factor now. It's demographic is sketchy to say the least and Starwars/Madagascar are still scooping 8-12 million per weekend which shows you people are not getting out to see stuff right away. I was off on War's 3 day total by 8.5 million as I predicted it to break 86 million and it ended up at 77.5 mil.

I was off on War's 3 day total by 8.5 million as I predicted it to break 86 million and it ended up at 77.5 mil.

3 day was 64.8. 4 day (counting monday) was 77.

Did you bet over 86? If so where at?

I don't mean to argue about it because it is a moot point but the actual weekend numbers for WOTW were:

3 Day: (Intertops)
$64,878,725

4 Day:
$77,061,953

5 Day: (Olympic, WSEX)
$100,561,125

These do count all of North America.

I nailed my 65 million or less for +250 at Intertops for War Of The Worlds. (for the 3-day)

I hoping i'll be able to get some nice odds like that for Fantastic Four. sometimes +450 will hit. but i've never been lucky enough to had played it when it has.

Lines Are Up!!!

The Box Office lines are up.

I'm thinking 13 million for DARK WATER. It's the only Thriller out and it's PG-13, so kids can get in. Plus it's staring Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly... who is very sexy. Getting pretty good reviews, too.

Box Office Report predicts 48 million for Fantastic 4 and 18 million for DARK WATER (he must really like Connelly)

I am leaning towards UNDER 36 million unless there is a hope for this BO slump to turn around. The trailer maske me not even want to see it. Demographically I don't see a huge draw. What are your thoughts on the 3 day total guys?

This one is a little more difficult because it is a bit of a teen date movie adn they do surprisingly well most times. I'm with 3D on 13 million and Tops is giving me a 5.5 million window. The smart play they made here was to cap the estimate at 9 to 11.5. That has potential to kill the bet if they got the line perfect. I am laying off this movie as think the Fantastic 4 will lay an egg.
