I know someone that likes to do this, and I argue that it's not a long term way to make money. Have y'all heard of this theory and is it any good? He believes because teams can prepare for it it hinders them, but I don't know that I agree. Thoughts?

It's hard to prepare for option teams because the opponents don't have anyone that can simulate the option attack anywhere near what GT runs it.

Well Navy and Air Force both won their games this year, but they were not playing against SEC competition. Paul Johnson does not have a great bowl record, the line movement is a bit odd going from 7 to 5.

Fading option teams against elite defenses, like Mississippi State, is +EV in the long run. Fading option teams is lower-tier Bowl games, where defenses just don't have the talent to stop a reasonable option offense even with the extra time to prepare, is not.

usually GT can't throw the ball at all. From what I've seen, they can throw this year if needed

I don't think this matters tonight. I think the Bulldogs will be able to defend both the run and the pass, and that GT will have a lot of trouble stopping the Bulldog offense. As should be obvious from these comments, I don't expect a very competitive game.
