Purdue +14
Call me crazy but the ONLY edge Ohio State has here is their turnover ratio, and we all know that turnovers are the only stat that we can not predict with any consistency and confidence. Yes, some teams go for the ball all the time on defense, and some teams lose the ball more often on offense, but how many times we have seen a team with a horrible TO ratio win the turnover battle against a team that has a good TO ratio ? Countless times. Purdue is definately the unluckiest team in the nation thru first 6 games played. Their stats are very respectable, they had a chance to win each of their first 6 games, but they had no luck at all. Ohio State won and covered last week against Wisconsin but they were outgained badly (368-184 or 2-1), they had 8 first downs against 22 for Wisconsin, they had the ball for just over 17 minutes. If it wasn't for 32 and 89 yards interception returns for TD's and a 96 yards kickoff return for TD as well, they would lose at home. Their win vs Indiana doesn't look all that nice now that we saw what Virginia did to them last week. Nothing great about their wins vs pathetic Illinois team either. Their win over Toledo looks great on paper but they were a 22 pts fave for gods sake. They were supposed to win big. And have we already forgotten that Navy almost won at Ohio State in week 1 ? I will not make any comment about the USC game because USC is much better than any other team Ohio State has played so far. But hey, Ohio State did look pathetic at times in that game. Not sure if Purdue can win this game, but they can definately stay well within the number.
