A premise is a proposition upon which an argument is based or from which a conclusion is drawn. Put another way, a premise includes the reasons and evidence behind a conclusion, says Study.com.

-------------------------------

It's obvious that most lefties around here simply can't grasp the premise of an argument, any argument, which is the single biggest reason you shouldn't engage them in a debate

Stated differently, they get everything wrong.

For example, if someone argues that coverage of new COVID-19 cases is hyperbolic, and that the discussion should be more about deaths, they counter with "there are xxx new cases"

So you try to engage them about new cases and say "more testing leads to more cases", they counter with "there are xxx new cases, and it's Trump's fault"

And if you choose to follow them down the endless spiral of ignorance and point out "new cases are spiking throughout the world, and the death rate has decreased astronomically", they counter with "there are xxx new cases, and Orange man is a super spreader"

They don't comprehend simple arguments, and the longer you engage them the dumber you get. They drag you down to their level of ignorance, then they beat you with experience.

Using them for entertainment purposes is acceptable, we all need to laugh.

Engaging them in a serious conversation is NOT acceptable.

And yes, I wrote the book on this subject matter
