I booked a friend's bet on soccer (-188 on the Arsenal to win 100). Could care less about the bet.

Did he lose if it was a draw?? Have no idea.

He pushed this one, but there are a lot of soccer lines that are 3 way (W\Tie\L).

Worth clarifying in the future.

I think a push was offered. He took the line from Bet365.

It's a little more complicated than that.

Because this is a FA Cup match (and a replay at that) that had to have one winner, did your odds reflect that?

If the odds were offered for the result after only 90 minutes only, it's a push (a draw, no bet option effectively).

If ithe bet was something along the lines of "Which team will progress to the next round?" then you lost as Arsenal won the eventual penalty shootout.

Typically when it's a 2-way situation in soccer the bet will be offered as "Arsenal pk -188" meaning that a tie means nothing, an Arsenal win is a win and an Arsenal loss is a loss. If there is injury time this is added after 90 minutes is played and usually amounts to a few minutes. Scores during this injury time are usually counted toward the bet.

Be careful when playing tournament bets. These matches, if tied after 90 mins. + injury time, will have either extended time or shootouts to decide a winner. The extended time scores or shootout scores are typically not included in the bet. Check with your book for the final word on this.

Oh man is this getting complicated.

Maybe I'll email Bet365 and they could tell me from those odds he had.

In the soccer forum chriscol stated that Arsenal in the 3-way bet was 1.84 (European odds) which translates into -119 for American odds. Since your friend had -188 he probably had odds for the pk since odds to win return more than odds for the pk. That is unless the line for the 3-way odds moved from -119 to -188 which is unlikely.

But what if he used the European odds up on their site. I have no idea what he did. He wrote it down and I threw it on the table. :)

No big deal.

Tony- In this spot, for betting purposes the final score is 0-0. Extra time, in this case 30 minutes, and penalty kicks don't count for betting purposes. Only the result for 90 minutes plus injury time. On the 3 way betting line, only the draw is a winner. I didn't pay too much attention to this match because I think FA Cup matches are tough to handicap.. But I believe you could have found Sheffield United at + 1/2 goal on the "goal line" so that would cash.

Now for this match being that it is a replay, someone has to go through so there is usually a line for that as well. It would be worded something like "Team to advance". In this case Arsenal bets would be paid and Sheffield United bets would lose.

On the three way, would the Arsenal be a loser?

Unabomber( Tony): Don't play bookie, when you don't know the rules yourself. I'm not saying I know them cold, either ! Your client doesn't seem to know for sure either.

Stick to what you know, esp. if you are going to play bookie !

It seems so, given that the bet was for 90 minutes,
which is the way they almost always are. But why
not just check your bet365 account & see if it won,
lost or tied? Or is it that you personally booked it
with him taking the bet365 line? Evidently, though,
the bet was two-way, not three-way, so a push/
tie is the result.
