Ace, I admire your ability not to care what the public thinks or which way lines are moving. Unfortunately for me, I have witnessed enough instances where the betting public was all over one side (the Colts last week, for example) and the books took them to the cleaners.

When you say dogs won 133 and faves won 123 this year, is that SU or ATS? And it does not take into account which way the lines were moving in those games, so I'm not sure how pertinent that factoid is to the "follow or fade the public" argument. It probably does all even out in the end, but instances like the NE/Indy game and that 3 point line move in the WRONG direction really stick out in my mind.

133 dogs ats.....123 fav ats.... and over a year it does even out...give or take.... a line the move 3 points in a week...happen 3-4 time a year....and something you can NOT see it coming.....those are the once to watch. ...and as i said before point only matter in 45 game this year and the dog has won 88 straight-up......alway bet the team to win outright
45 games the points matter is 17% of all game and a 3 point move is less than 2% of all game....so what not think about the other 81% the game at hand....
this is about putting weight (stat....qb...betting with the public....pass ..running...su.....two year ago stat.ect..) on a game....

went i play black jack and the count is -10.....and i have a 13....and the dealer has a 15......"joe public say to stay and let the dealer hit and go over 21"........and by counted you know that a little card is coming.....what would you do?..

THERE HAVE BEEN ALOT OF GAME THAT THE PUBLIC HAS BEEN ON THAT HAS WON...AND I ALSO THING IN TIME IT EVEN OUT....

Thanks for the clarification, Ace. I suppose for every instance where the betting public caused a large line move and lost, there is another instance of the betting public causing a large line move and winning.....we just don't remember those as well because we want to believe we're all "smarter" than everyone else or have some insight that everyone else has failed to see. It probably does even out over time.

P.S. Since I don't count cards like you do, I don't think I could ever hit a 13 against a dealer's 15, but I did hit a 12 against a dealer's 15 once because I was talking to my buddy and not paying attention! I busted. Go figure!

Why does everyone worry about what the so called public is playing. Play the better team, or who you think is the better team. For every Colts public play that loses, there are plenty of Public plays that win, LIke the Patriots almost the whole regular season. Trust yourself
