I believe China and refineries make a good spin for the real reason, W's war in Iraq and collusion with the real enemy, the Saudis!:icon_conf

Not good with W as the 'Wizard'! I'd like to meet Glenda though, as long as she does not resemble dysfunctional Rice! :toast:

Those things are all factors, but the big picture is supply and demand. Oil is only going to get more expensive in the long term. We have probably already reached hubberts peak (if you've never heard of it, read about it - otherwise you are just uninformed), so its all downhill from here (literally and figuratively).

it is all about supply & demand but also about if the US gets some help from Exxon with refineries because oil is not depleated but refineries are.

That's depleted - and of course oil is depelted you moron - Deplete refers to using up gradually. Get an education.

Interestingly, the United States oil "peaked" in 1970. Obviously though the embargo was the reason for the volatility during that stretch.

Nowhere did I state that the war or wars has no effect on oil prices.

Again, I have to disagree - both supply (timely supply) and demand (demand in a limited sense due to the militarys use of oil) are effected by the war.

A hurricane in Iraq? And since when do hurricanes target oil fields and processing plants?

Sorry Nimue, didn't mean to disrespect your research or you. I did mean to show my disrespect for this President and this war and its' effects! Mostly the needless loss of life but also the carpetbagger president and his oil buddies in Saudi Arabia and all over the world!:sad3:
