Eastern Michigan +31.5

Rather than go into my explanation of why this line is too high, and how I will be pounding EMU at this number, could anybody here verify the offensive performance of EMU? How can a team that averages 30 ppg be a 31.5? This line just looks like a mistake to me. BGSU is good, but their D doesn't look like they have enough to stop EMU. This game reminds me of last year when I took Baylor getting 54 from Oklahoma. Now granted, Baylor couldn't score, but the line was just simply too high and I think the books are concentrating on the fact that BGSU put up 70 against Temple and 51 against Ball State. EMU appears better than both of those teams and this is an important conference game for them. And with no significant injuries, it just doesn't add up.
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated before I take the points and pray.

The Eagles hung in nicely last year vs. the Green and the multi-talented Josh Harris, who was probably a better QB than present day Jacobs. Liking EMU plus this huge # also.

Wow...don't know how anyone could make Eastern Michigan their huge play. Here's a team that lost at home to Idaho and a Division II team, has a point spread record of 2-4, and would be 2-5 if they lined games against Division II teams. They are playing against a team that is on FIRE, 5-1 ATS, has beat three teams by 31 points or more, and has held the teams that they have beat to an average of 14 points.

Sure EMU averages 31 points per game against the Idaho's, Eastern Illinois, Buffalo's and Ball States of the world, but I would never put hard earned, or for that matter, hard won money on that team. EMU could actually reach 31 points in this game and still not cover.

GL fellas...You have some big cajones.

As far as the loss to Eastern Illinois, this happens more often than you think. Mississippi State lost at home to Maine, if you recall, and beat Florida last week. I'm not saying that EMU can win SU, but they will get on the scoreboard and keep this game reasonable. It will be like BGSU's games against CMU and OU, wins of 24 and 25 points.

I believe this game is a situation where an overvalued team is laying too many points. BGSU is good, but not 31.5 better than EMU.

You're partially right.

BGSU put up 70 against Temple, but Temple only scored 17.

BGSU put up 51 against Ball State, but Ball State only scored 13.

What does this tell you?

Yes, BG does like to run up the score, leaving the perfect opportunity for a back-door cover, worst case scenario. However, I think this game will be reasonably close, with BG pulling away in the 4th. Something like 52-35.
