How many points is East Carolina gonna score? 60? 70? 80!!. I did a bunch straight up and a fuck ton of parlays. And a fun 10 Pter with Baylor and Packers thrusday night. Teddy not gonna run for those first downs on that hobbled ankle. Rodgers hot and more importantly WR are catching the ball! Gluck.

I was waiting all weekend for this line to come out, and expected 42.5 or something along those lines. I guess i wasn't the only one, as 98% of the public is pounding this game.

ECU defense does not have really anthing to brag about. They held an over rated vtech team to 21 points and gave up 41 to UNC. I could see SMU putting up 14-21 points here even though their offense has been abysmal. They showed a few signs of life against TCU in the first half, and TCU has a much better D than ECU. This game is a head scratcher. The high public percentage has me weary.

I may play east Carolina's team total over when it comes out. I think e.carolina never lets off the gas here, being they are ranked #22. Im thinking if smu slipped in and scored a couple, which im not so sure they will do, ec still has good chance to cover. SMU has completely quit and have '0' talent, with a 4th string walk-on qb. Ive said the last two weeks , going against smu looked too easy before the game. Here it does once again. Im betting against SMU until they cover, but im glad to be getting a quality offense here to help w/ that big spread.
Great points. ECU shouldn't slow down here, bc any sign of life from SMU towards them could possibly hurt their rankings.
Baylor only put up 45 against SMU, but that is because they benched everybody. That would be my only issue here. ECU will roll in the first half no doubt, But if they let off early in 2nd, I could see SMU sneaking in a cover here. First half may be the better play depending on what the line is. Same with ECU team total.
If ECU wanted to, they could score 50+ easily. SMU defense really has nothing to stop them. I think the SMU offense is slowly getting better and the ECU defense is not that great. If the over is in the 50s I think a good play.

Here is a pretty good read on an interview with the coach of ECU. First time being ranked since 1998 and on the national stage. Also, it is homecoming and the first conference game with something to prove.

Is there any reason for ECU to call off the dogs? They get USF next week, not exactly a team to be overly concerned about. Why not score 70 here??? Style points to move up the rankings!
Homecoming game, even the backups will be looking to score score score! I have been eying this game up and looking for reasons not to love it... Some solid points here. Much appreciated

Just want to add that I think teams usually underperform at homecoming for whatever reason.
I started looking at this after I took Iowa State at homecoming getting 21 or 28 back around ~2000 against the Huskers. Thought it was a lock because of homecoming. Nope
Also, as you probably know, teams tend to underachieve the first week after becoming ranked.

Interesting. Yeah, good point on the homecoming part, especially when they know it is going to be an easy win.
As for the ranking, I figure they really want to make a statement coming though especially getting coverage. Perfect timing to do so, off of a bye and against a really bad team. Someone else mentioned even the back ups should be able to light them up. SMU run D is atrocious and ECU has a few good running backs to throw in during garbage time that will continue to rack up yards. Plus, SMU special teams is just as bad as the rest of the team. ECU should have great field position all day. Really hard not to take this game. The initial line/public has me worried a bit as Vegas knows how bad this SMU team is also. But, at least the line is moving the right direction.
