early (thursday)games after week 1 of pre-season tend to go under...

last two seasons:

week 2 xnfl, thursday games: 3-0 under
week 3 xnfl, thursday games: 2-0-1 under
week 4 xnfl, thursday games: 16-10 under


next week is the only week that counts for most of the nfl teams when it comes to the pre-season. most teams will play their starters a lot next week, and some of them will be in a 'flat spot' this week....

With Pennington starting for Miami, ya gotta wonder if he'll get a lot of the snaps while trying to get up to speed. Don't know if that translates to an Over or Under, but it's something to ponder.

The playbook should still be limited at this time with run plays and early check downs for Pennington. Timing on deep routes with new receivers usually takes a bit of practice and getting used to one another.

going with two unders tonight (33 and 35.5)...

philly and pittsb comming off of their pen rivalery game. pitt and buffalo playing in canada (both travelling), and carolina played ot last week. short rest for all teams, thursday games 21-10 to the under last 2 seasons (after week 1 of preseason).

I like your observation about Thurs games being an under trend,especially as teams deal with injuries and recent pick ups such as Leftowich etc. Both Phil and Pi tt played last Friday.Car and Buff played on Sat night.I think this puts their offense at a big disadvantage.

The question is, does the line already reflect this information ?

Some very bad luck on these- Muffed Punt and a KO return in the Buffalo game and then the ending in the Philly game was crazy
