According to NJ.com, the Eagles will try to trade up in the draft to select Heisman winning quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Here's an excerpt from the report:
"From No. 20, it's certainly not going to be easy,'' said the person, who requested anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak on the subject. "It's probably going to take moving up twice to do it. There's going to be some wheeling and dealing involved.''
Asked if he thought it could happen, the response was telling.
"Can it happen?'' he asked. "I don't know. But they're going to try.''
The obvious reason for the Eagles' interest involves head coach Chip Kelly. Kelly recruited Mariota to Oregon and was his coach for the first two years. Just a few days ago Mariota was asked about a possible reunion.

“Obviously my relationship with Coach Kelly, it’d be a lot of fun to be a part of that offense and be a part of that team," Mariota said. "But for me, any team that wants me to be part of their club, I’m all for it. Whatever happens, happens, and I’m looking forward to the process.”

Last month Kelly wouldn't commit to Nick Foles as the team's future quarterback. If the Eagles do make this happen, it would please former quarterback Randall Cunningham.

So Kelly wants to grab a Oregon QB, bring him to a Pro Team with a ex-Oregon Coach and run the Eagles like they are a College Team ... or run a Pro team under the Oregon Program ??

Ever hear the saying, You can Never Go Back ??

"Hey I ran 9 plays at Oregon, it was like Tecmo Bowl, I see myself running off tackle in the NFL for 35 yards, but I just want to be a team player..We have a long history of producing pro bowl quarterbacks at Oregon"

Do you know the cost of moving up that high? Fans are morons. Notice that when a team has 2 first round picks, it never bodes well except on a day in april so everyone acts like " the future is bright"...If they wanted him that bad, go 2-14 this year. You would get him for alot cheaper. Now lets mortgage the franchise to get a "mobile" qb. My God.

I can see that this is a nice distraction from Luck's 12 for 33 performance..maybe MM can learn to drop back 33 times and perform like that... I can see some here are feeling uneasy about Philly going after him.... If he is supposed to suck, what are you all scared of ?...
for the record, what I said was, Mariota could be in the MVP discussion if the Eagles get him...

I'm not going to post and post and post about this in another MM thread...especially with idiots that cant even recognize what R Wilson does for the Seahawks.... I believe he has what it takes to have a very successful career

Luck went 12-33. So? Where would they be without him? Picking 4th to get Mariotta? Luck will be 27 and be by far the best qb in the afc in 2 years.

Let him go all in for Mariota and if he fails, back to college for Chip.

Why are people so high on this guy? He is a smaller version of Tim Tebow. Successful in life? Yes. Successful in the NFL? He is a 5th round pick.

Sanchez even looked good for a while in that offense. I'm sure Mariotta could have some success as well
