This Saturday Santa Anita Park presents The Santa Anita Handicap (Grade I) at a mile and a quarter for 4 year olds and up running for a purse of $1 million. A field of 14 is scheduled to go to the post at 8:02 p.m. EST. The post position, morning line odds and past performance link are shown below.

If you cannot read the PP link, simply sign up at www.drf.com for free and you will be able to read the pdf file. The DRF never bothers you and all you use is an e-mail address and a password.

This race appears to be one that will develop into a tactical race as there is no real speed in the race. Most are stalkers and closers and are going to be likely chasing a controlled pace up front which should make it more difficult to run down the leaders. Pletcher enters two here but it is the #2 horse that looks to have the style that fits this race. Should be on or right near the lead throughout and seems to have the fight in the stretch to hold.

Great job OJS. As for the Derby, I saw Quality Road last week. He looked good. I really don't have a Derby favorite. I Want Revenge looked great today. Hope he wins it for Greenhead who has him at 80/1 in a future.

thanks ted. horse book mgr at stations has 150-1 on quality road,very early. had big brown last yr 150-1 early. his name is vic vizio. dont know where they come up with these so early
