Some real mixed messages in this stakes race. Get Funky upgrades to Gomez after a lack luster return from a 7 month lay-off. Delta Storm is 8 years old and returns after a 6 month lay-off but did put up a bullet work of 58.6 which was the best of 27 at the distance on 5/20. Wild Diplomat shortens up after running two turns his last 5 races and his recent return was decent. Candy Pull returns after a 50 day layoff following a lifetime best Beyer but jockey Espinoza chooses to leave him for Backbackbackgone who loses Bejarano who stays with Sky Cape. Nericon King comes in from Austrialia for his first start in this country and off a 5 month lay-off and Hewitt comes in from Churchill following showing speed in the Churchill Downs (Grade II) over a sloppy track but Talamo leaves him to stay with Wild Diplomat.

Appears there might be plenty of speed in this one, so going to take a shot here with O'Neill's horse who is shortening up, hoping he can run down the tiring speed.
