Hey guys I write articles 4 x per week on Mon, Wed, Thur, and Fri for MLB. This is what I send to the company before it gets edited.
TIPS- I do have a cheat sheet on the site but have no way to copy and paste it. I did hit a big tournament but entering large-field tournaments is a grind and takes lots and lots of luck. STACKING TEAMS IS KEY
The BEST WAY TO MAKE MONEY at this is to PLAY 50/50s. I go 4-3 and 5-2 per week and most often for about $100 a night. I try to find 50/50s on DK that have more than 200 people. The key to 50/50s is trying to get a score above 110. Not going for a miracle 200 filled with value plays.
Baseball is a grind because no matter who the hitter is the failure rate is high. Ride the streaky players and nail the pitching matchups.
Core Pitchers
Gerit Cole, NYY vs. DET (DK: $10,900 | FD: $10,800)
Cole has been a fantasy point machine. Scoring 22 – 34 fantasy points in his last 7 starts. He has a plus matchup against a Tiger offense that has really struggled this season. Cole should give us 6 to 7 strong innings with a bunch of strikeouts.
Corbin Burnes, MIL vs. SD (DK: $10,100 | FD: $10,500)
Burnes is coming off a 40-point fantasy performance striking out 12. Burnes has pitched 6 plus innings in each start since opening day and it continues tonight. Pencil Burnes for at least 25 FPTs.
Shane McClanahan, TB vs. CHW (DK: $9,600 | FD: $11,200)
McClanahan has been stellar, he has only allowed 2 earned runs in his last 26 IP while striking out 34. The White Sox lineup has been short-handed for most of the season and their big bats have been struggling. He can be a cheaper option than the top-priced pitchers and give you the same production.
Core Hitters
C/OF MJ Melendez, KC vs. HOU (DK: $3,700 | FD: NO PLAY)
Melendez is on a 4-game hitting streak and just may get better and better with more experience. DraftKings forces you to play a catcher and he has the best price for the upside.
1B Vladamir Guerrero Jr., TOR vs. MIN (DK: $4,300 | FD: $3,600)
This price is ridiculous for a guy like Guerrero. He should never be priced less than 5 K and tonight he has a great matchup against the Twins and SP Chi Chi Gonzalez. We have to hope that everyone chooses the Coors Field match-up and keeps his ownership under 25%.
OF Julio Rodriguez, SEA vs TEX (DK: $4,600 | FD: $3,600)
Rodriguez has been simply amazing the past month. His combination of power and speed make him a 5K plus player. He has a solid matchup against Texas SP Dane Dunning and I think he reaches double-digit FPTs tonight.
OF Aaron Judge, NYY vs. DET (DK: $5,700 | FD: $4,400)
Judge and the Yankees should put up some runs in Detroit against Tiger’s SP Elvin Rodriguez. The home run leader comes at a price that is still a bargain, he should be 6K plus. I have Judge for double-digit fantasy points.
Value Plays
OF Taylor Trammell, SEA vs. TEX (DK: $2,000 | FD: $2,300)
Trammel is coming off 3 straight productive nights and he doesn’t have to do much to make value at min price. This option along with Andujar allows you to get two top pitchers AND some big infield bats or the infield Blue Jays stack.
2B/OF DK – 3B FD Tucupita Marcano, (DK: $2,500 | FD: $2,300)
Marcano’s power and speed have given him 3 straight double-digit FPT games and he has been productive in all 7 games he has played. A value play in the infield which is difficult to find tonight.
OF/3B Miguel Andujar, NYY vs. DET (DK: $ 2,500 | FD: $2,200)
Surprised Andujar’s price hasn’t reached at least 3K by now. He is coming off a 14-point performance and I am expecting big things from him hitting cleanup for the potent Yankees.
1B/3B Matt Carpenter, NYY vs. DET (DK: $3,300 | FD: $2,500)
Carpenter has hit 3 home runs in his 5 games with the Yankees. He is a power left-handed bat who will get opportunities to drive in runs and may get the start tonight. If he and Andujar both start, they could be stacked with Judge and you can still get 2 of the top pitchers in your lineup.
SP Merrill Kelly, ARI vs. PIT (DK: $6,800 | FD: $8,500)
Kelly started the season hot but has been struggling since. He does take on a Pirates team coming off sweeping the Dodgers which will keep him extremely low owned. Kelly does have great stuff and strikeout potential. A 20-plus fantasy point performance would not shock me.
SP Yusei Kikuchi, TOR vs. MIN (DK: $6,500 | FD: $8,000)
The Minnesota Twins offense flat-out stinks and strikes out a ton. Buxton has been in a huge slump. Carlos Correa is hurt and the Twin’s batting order is relying on multiple guys who have very little Major League experience. Kikuchi has a strong chance to limit the Twins and get to 20 fantasy points.
Top Stacks
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Minnesota Twins
The Blue Jays are very cheap tonight and they take on a name I haven’t heard in a while Twin’s SP Chi Chi Gonzalez who is being called up. Gonzalez has been terrible at the Major League level and I would be shocked if he wasn’t hit hard tonight. Check the status of OF George Springer as he could be back tonight. If not, Santiago Espinal will likely get the leadoff duties.
2B Santiago Espinal (DK: $3,600 | FD: $2,500)
3B Matt Chapman (DK: $3,700 | FD: $2,700)
OF Teoscar Hernandez (DK: $4,000 | FD: $2,900)
1B Vladamir Guerrero Jr. (DK: $4,300 | FD: $3,600)
C Danny Jansen (DK: $4,500 | FD: $3,100)
OF George Springer (DK: $4,800 | FD: $3,700)
SS Bo Bichette (DK: $4,900 | FD: $3,400)
New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers
Yankees also have a plus matchup against Tiger’s SP Elvin Rodriguez who has an ERA above 6. The Yankees have value bats which makes them more appealing not to mention Aaron Judge who has been dominating fantasy baseball.
OF Miguel Andujar (DK: $2,500 | FD: $2,200)
1B/3B Matt Carpenter (DK: $3,300 | FD: $2,500)
1B Anthony Rizzo (DK: $4,400| FD: $3,500)
2B Gleybur Torres (DK: $4,800 | FD: $3,000)
2B/3B D.J. LeMahieu (DK: $4,500 | FD: $3,000)
OF Aaron Judge (DK: | FD: $5,700| FD: $4,400 | $4,400)
Sneaky Stacks
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets
Met’s SP Chris Bassitt is coming off a good start after having a couple of rough starts giving up 5 home runs. He takes on a Dodger’s offense that can go off at any time despite some recent struggles. Dodger ownership should be very low and they have the caliber players who can win a big field GPP.
OF Chris Taylor (DK: $4,900 | FD: $2,900)
OF Mookie Betts (DK: $5,900 | FD: $4,600)
1B Edwin Rios (DK: $4,000| FD: $2,600)
SS Trea Turner (DK: $5,300 | FD: $4,200)
1B Freddie Freeman (DK: $5,100 | FD: $3,800)
C Will Smith (DK: $5,100 | FD: No Play)
