How do I pick players during the live draft?

<!-- Article -->
Before it is your turn to pick or while you are on the clock you can select any green circle icon with an up-arrow inside of it that you see on the live draft board. This will place the player you are most interested in selecting in the pre-selection queue area in the upper right of the screen. When it is your team's turn to draft, you will hear an audible alert and see your team name in the yellow block at the top of the screen with a title of ON THE CLOCK. The Draft Player button will then become enabled (i.e. red) and selecting this button will draft that player for you.
Note: it is not recommended that you wait until less than 5 seconds remain on the clock as we cannot guarantee your computer is synchronized to the second with our servers and you may not get your player.
You have until the clock expires on your pick to select this player. If the clock expires before you draft a player, the system may pick a player for you (if your commissioner has defined your draft to "try not to skip"). The player in your pre-selection queue area will NOT be used by the system in selecting which player to draft for you, that is what the Auto-Draft Queue is for.
There are two ways the system will make an auto-pick for a team:
1) The Team's Auto Draft setting is set to Instant
If the team's turn comes up and their setting is Instant, the auto-picker will instantly select a player for this team. If a team's turn is up and its owner changes the setting to Instant, the auto-picker will instantly select a player for this team
2) The Team's time to make a pick expires without one being made
If a team fails to make a pick in the allotted time, the auto-picker will select a player for this team.

The auto-picker goes through the following to decide which player will be selected for a team:
Please note: players selected for viewing in the pre-selection queue in the upper left of the screen will not necessarily be chosen by the auto-picker.
If the team has any players on his Auto-Draft list, the auto-picker will start at the top of the list and select the first un-drafted player from the list. If this player fits all the other constraints* imposed upon this draft, he will be drafted.
If the team has no players on his Auto-Draft list or if all players on his auto-draft list have been selected already (or exceed constraints*), the auto-picker will utilize the RTSports rankings (top 300), start at the top of this list, and select the first available player to be drafted.
If all the players on the RTSports rankings list have been selected already , the auto-picker will select the first available player (meeting your constraints*) by searching the entire list of available players alphabetically. This would be very rare, not many drafts will have 300+ players selected.

Do you have an auto-draft capability in case I can not be present for our league draft?

<!-- Article -->
Yes! The Auto-Pick function allows users to have the system make picks for them in their live draft, based on their auto-draft list. You will need to setup an "auto-draft list" of players to draft from and rank them accordingly. You can set it up yourself inside of the live draft board. You can then setup the Auto-Pick mode with the following options:
  • Off. Turn the auto-picker off. The user must select his/her players from the live draft board manually. If the league has a constraint on the time to make a pick, the user must select the desired player before the time is up or the selection will be skipped.
  • Instant. Allow the auto-picker to select the next player from your auto-draft list as soon as it is your turn to pick. The user will not be manually making a pick in this instance, so fill out your auto-draft list wisely! Two important notes about this mode:
    1. If your draft is running, you are currently up in the draft order, and you select "INSTANT", the system will IMMEDIATELY make a pick for your team. Be sure to know the current state of your draft before you change to this mode.
    2. The system will first try to select a player from the user’s auto-draft list in the order defined by the user. ONLY if the auto-draft list does not exist, will the system then fall back to the RTSports Draft Guide rankings to make a selection. If (a) the user is at their roster limit OR (b) the user defined their own positional draft limits and the total max selection limit is less than the roster size OR (c) (salary cap leagues only) the user is at their salary cap limit, the user will NOT be skipped, rather you will still be on the clock and your auto-pick mode will automatically be shut off.
  • Fail-Safe. Not available if your draft does not have a time limit for selections. Allow the auto-picker to select the next player from my auto-draft list only if I did not make a selection within the time limit for my draft. Fail-Safe mode is used when you believe you may not be able to get your pick in on time (due to internet connectivity problems, for example) and you do not want your turn to be skipped. If time expires in fail-safe mode the system will first try to select a player from the user’s auto-draft list in the order defined by the user. ONLY if the auto-draft list does not exist, will the system then fall back to the RTSports Draft Guide rankings to make a selection. There exist some scenarios where the user could still be skipped.
    a) The user is at their roster limit.
    b) The user defined their own positional draft limits and the total max selection limit is less than the roster size.
    c) (salary cap leagues only) the user is at their salary cap limit. In this case the user will be skipped until the next successful selection in the draft.
ROSTER LIMITS:
If the auto-pick Instant or Fail-Safe function is used, an owner may set roster limits to avoid getting more players at a position than he wants. The auto-pick Instant and Fail-Safe modes select players from the auto-draft list in accordance with the roster composition limits set by the commissioner.
Example:
The commissioner has set maximum roster limits of:
QB-4
RB-6
WR-6
TE-4
K-2
Def/ST-2
The system will award the owner players from top to bottom of the auto-draft list, if it can, based on these limits. The roster limit section allows the owner to set his own limits for the draft to ensure he only gets the number of players he wants at any position. In addition, an owner can choose to draft players based on your starting lineup composition.

Click on the wrench icon in the Auto Draft Queue section of the live draft board and set the desired custom limits and/or select to fill the starting lineup first. Then click on "submit" and "ok".
