EXCLUSIVE: NEW YORK — NBA referee Tim Donaghy made repeated phone calls to a second referee at the same time he provided inside information to professional gamblers during the course of the 2006-2007 season, according to court documents and phone records obtained by FOXNews.com.

The records show Donaghy placed 134 calls to referee Scott Foster — more than the 126 calls Donaghy made to his bookie — between October 2006 and April 2007, the period during which he has confessed to either betting on games or passing on game information to gamblers. The majority of the phone calls lasted no more than two minutes and occurred prior to and after games Donaghy officiated and on which he admits wagering.

ok, this is the evidence i wanted to see before i just went crazy like some of you guys. so we got 2 people involved. nba needs to get rid of foster now. going to take a image hit short term, long term the league will be fine, still a solid 3rd behind mlb and nfl. there is no big 4th sport in the US.

i like the recent move by hiring the army general to oversee code of conduct by referees, i think thats a good start.

now what these refs need to do is all start reffing according to current nba rules. half of the nba refs are old school refs who lean towards pre-stern policy changes. the other half are post-stern policy changes. you get a consistent style and it should be good.

But I thought David Stern said this was an isolated case? :lolBIG:

Maybe Stern should just confess how he influences games too, like the wink wink, nudge, nudge he surely gave to the refs in the Miami/Dallas championship series a couple years back.

Everybody's doing it, no biggie. Donaghy for a quick personal gain, Stern for the long term gains. Happens all the time, just look at the NFL commissioner who clearly must have had a hand in the Pittsburgh/Seattle Superbowl.

Fixing outcomes is fun and helps the ego and bankroll.

Hockey is 4th in the north. Nascar is 3rd/4th in the south. Agree with everything else.

Evidence of probable collusion is in the time frame within which the calls are made.

You have to be naive to believe that the calls made right after calls to the middle man are not related.

Only time i have calls that close and repeatedly is if me and the people are calling are talking about the same thing. Its obvious who the go between here is.

Remember the tongue lashing posters would get when they yelled fix in the NBA? This is vindication. I'm quite sure it goes on in all sports to some degree.. but I don't care.. I just hope I find myself on the right side of it more times than not :)

this is the spirit. instead of believing that pro sports are honest, just embrace the fact that they are rigged and try to be on the right side of it when you are gambling

No matter the scope of this whole betting scandal Stern will tell you that it's an isolated incident.

Key Arena was no good for the NBA. As soon as a settlement was reached Key Arena would be okay for the league if it was renovated. You really can't trust anything that comes out of the grand ppoobbaas mouth. He's scum!

stern is a genius. he turned the nba into the most followed global game in the US, and is a genius at marketing the league and its players. without david stern, you have no foreign players like nowitzski, barbosa, and on and on.
