IF your a steam chaser following the Don Best Screen and chasing every move wouldn't it be to your advantage to have the G&J feed also. Here is my thought process on this. Since the offscreen books always get hit first with the moves and G&J is a live lines feed and deals with all OFFSCREEN books, wouldn't it get you the steam that much earlier. Just a thought, what are your professioanl opinions on this?

I think that the steam guys, if they are attempting to conceal their plays will avoid any books that post their lines on a big public line feed. In other words, if the guys who are betting steam find out that people are picking up on it, they will stop hitting those outs.

I would like to see a STEAM thread and all the steam plays listed. Has it been done. Someone knows the steam plays as they are wagered. Does following the steam work for you?

I think the steam player animal is on the endangered species list. The good books move their lines very fast and even you are a quick draw McGraw and beat them often, they will boot you anyway. The crappy books on the other hand will eventually slow pay then no pay you. If you're in this sports betting thing for the long haul, you'd better come up with a better approach than just following steam. You may still be able to make a steam play here and there just below the boot threshold but it needs to be only a small part of a larger overall strategy. Just my 2c.

If you want diversity, (dime player or less)grab a square book like BoDog where the line seldom moves camparitively or goes different way and watch Pinny dance around it before game time or during a halftime. Its much easier to find the value when you have no juice at Bodog waiting for you with the 10% per deposit as you wait for Pinny to beat that anchored line. (IMO)
