I have done this diet before and have had success. I need to lose 20 pounds in a month or 2 and I know it will work on this diet. After the jump start I plan on changing eating habits to keep the weight off.

I was just wondering if anyone had any foods/recipes/products that they used on this diet that they really enjoyed. I found a few but always looking for a little variety.

Thanks

couple of suggestions

If you need food on the go this is what I do I will order 5 whopper patties with a slice of cheese on each. just the patty no bread

costs about 6/7 dollars

go to the deli an order 2lbs of turkey breast chicken breast ham

roast beef

take it to work with ya---- roll 5 slices of turkeybreast with a slice of munster cheese on each --put in the microwave 25 seconds

taste incredible

I am starting tomorrow also (no bread) low carbs

I agree eating habits must change, especially staying away from fast foods, but the key I believe is exercising at least 5 times a week....The last three weeks I have been eating more than I did during my weight loss of 100 pounds and I am still losing...I attribute that to daily exercise and eating lots of fruits and salads....I enjoy the entree of two meat patties with cheese and a baked potatoe at TGIF here in Costa Rica, I have that at least 2 times a week.....

did the munster roll ups, good stuff. Made 50 buffalo wings today. I am just about winged out. good stuff also.

Having carb withdrawals bad. If I can get through today and tomorrow I should be home free....

the atkins diet is toxic to your liver...just fyi. also lack of carbs won't allow you to produce enough glycogen for your muscles and you'll be chronically fatigued in the long run.

Since you are not asking for opinions on Atkins, I won't offer mine.

If you are scum-sucking low-life SOB like me, you might occasionally shop at Wal-Mart. If you do, I suggest picking up a box or two of the Atkins Advantage bars. If you get the 2.1 oz bars, you can cut them in half for added value (110 calories and .5 gram sugar). They make for a great snack without the sugar.

Im not going atkins but low carb right now. I cook allot of stir fry and also on the grill. Nothing like some chicken, steak, veg, mixed with some soy sauce. Other then that if you have to have carbs go with whole wheat carbs, drink lots of water to flush out your system. Hope it goes well and just dont go crazy. By the way I am far from a trainer but I have talked with some and thats what they suggested for me. Also stay away from fruit. I was eating allot of fruit but there is so much sugar and carbs in it you can stall your progress. Someone suggested more veg. like carrots and celery to snack on. Good luck

Good luck, my Dad lost 50 pounds on this. Make sure to ease off slowly, incorporate healthy carbs consistantly, and don't cheat.

Going on atkins for a bit. Lost 6 pounds the first day. Drink lots of water too.

Grill a chicken breast, PUT SOME SWISS CHEESE on it add some ham on top, do it all on the grill. NO CARBS, good stuff!!!

Been doing the same for the past 1.5 weeks...trying to lose over 20 lbs in a month.

Not necessarily 'Atkins' - just a low, carb approach. I'm a bit more strict. Atkins asks you to do < 20g carbs for first two weeks. I tend to stay < 10 lbs for a month, then start working in the carbs.

Down about 8 lbs so far...didn't get my starting point & didn't start weighing after the first day.

Having Turkey Meatloaf tomorrow...just nix'ed the breadcrumbs for parm cheese & no sugar added tomato sauce (w/ splenda & vinegar) for ketchup topping. Good stuff.

String cheese

Pork skins (rinds)

For sandwiches or burgers substitute lettuce leaves for bread

I lost 30 lbs and when I got off I gave into the cravings for bread and sweets
and over several months put it all back on.

ketogenic diets are great, but it takes a lot out of you after two weeks. If you're strict, you'll be doing well.

meant to say...i try to keep under 10g of carbs/day...not lbs...which is strict.

The key is water though...I try to keep chugging during the day.

I am considering doing it also. I've tried a less strict approach and I go up and down. I once lost about 40lbs on the strict Atkins without a step of exercise. The scary thing is that my starting weight was about 30 pounds lighter than I am now.

Nice. 4600 posts and you find a post from 17 months ago that I made a mistake on.

You might want to get a life loser
